Absolutely the best thing we have done on this trip to the Isles of Scilly. We met the folks (Lewis and Sky) from Seal Snorkelling Adventures at the beach in St Martins having booked in advance via their website. They kitted us out with very warm (winter grade) Mares wetsuits, gloves, boots and hoods. Also fins mask and snorkel. We got kitted up at the hut ( located just at the tip of the beach with a wooden silhouette of a seal above it's doors). Their RHIB is really nice, a 350 horsepower outboard on a very well put together centre wheelhouse boat. It was a 10 minute zoom out to the rocks where the seals haul out and we were not disappointed when we got there. On the day we went it was flat calm, with overcast skies. Perfect conditions really. Lewis anchored up about 40m offshore over a great kelp forest with at least 20 seals sleeping on the rocky shore. We got a good brief with lots of info about these amazing animals and then with did final kitting up and rolled in. Swimming into the shore some of the seals came in to meet us. We spent a little time floating and letting them get used to us before we got them zipping up to say hi. The seals are like big wet dogs and loved to nibble on our fins. On land you can walk for hours in the woods and never see anything but in the sea the wildlife comes to take a look. If you fancy an experience to remember then give Lewis a call.

WOW. A magical experience to be so up-close (but respectful) to these wonderful creatures! This was the highlight of our trip to Scilly! The seals were so inquisitive and friendly. We are used to snorkelling, but this was a unique opportunity we couldn't miss! Lewis was great, with lots of helpful communication prior to the day (adverse weather conditions meant a few changes!). He was not there on the day, but both the boat driver and the lady who came in the water with us (Darcy?) were excellent too. We were in the water for an hour in full winter wetsuits, hoods, gloves, boots and snorkelling equipment - all provided. (We took our own full face snorkels as we prefer those - no problem.) We were quite chilled after an hour, but the hot drink and Twix - and the fast rib ride back to St Mary's - helped us warm up afterwards!! Thank you Lewis and everyone involved - we'll be back for more in 2027!

We have been visiting the Isles of Scilly for years and I have always wanted to do the seal snorkeling - it did not disappoint! Lewis and Maisie were really friendly and informative and provided all the kit needed including top quality wetsuits and snorkeling equipment. They were really helpful in ensuring the wetsuits fitted correctly to ensure our comfort in the water. The boat ride itself was great fun and when we got out to the seals I couldn't wait to get in and swim with them. The seals were so interactive and playful, we spent ages in the water with them and didn't feel rushed or hurried in anyway. Lewis was in the water with us for and help or guidance needed. When we got back into the boat, there was a warm drink and chocolate bar waiting for us. This was the highlight of our yearly Scilly trip and I'd 100% recommend it to anyone!
