Polreath Tea Room — Restaurant in England

Arrived at the tea rooms to have drinks and food. Four of us plus a dog. It was raining so we went inside the cafe. Just sitting down when the proprietor came up to us and said ‘no dogs in the cafe, only the garden or greenhouse’. When questioned why another couple were sat with a dog he responded that he missed that, so they had to get up and move also . I asked why he didn’t have a sign at the door to avoid confusion. His response was that he usually managed to catch them as they came through. We left without purchasing anything, so his loss. He appears pleasant in his manner but is totally unprofessional in his running if his establishment. We shan’t be using his services in the future and would suggest others visiting with dogs are now aware of the ‘restrictions’. I went here on a very busy day and the staff were friendly and calm, making for a pleasant atmosphere. The gardens were beautiful to see whilst drinking tea. It is a shame there were not many options for vegans besides the Hummus Plate (which was a little too expensive for what it was). No complaints and I would recommend all types of people visit this place; couples, families, and lone wolf characters will enjoy...

Nothing but positives. Friendly and engaging staff. Tomato soup and focaccia bread are delicious; chocolate Guinness cake totally addictive. Everything prepared onsite. Nice selection of Cornish ales. Beautiful location. Lots of varied inside, garden, and sheltered greenhouse seating. Best destination on St. Martin’s for a relaxing daytime break in my opinion.
