Apon entry the door staff were reluctant to let me in with my service dog, despite the sign saying assistance dogs welcome.. I was told 'he isn't a guide dog' which, is absolutely correct but also assistance dogs aren't always for guidance. The younger lady spotted and acknowledged the sunflower lanyard and was then accommodating. She questioned the fact the dog did not have an assistance lead, which, is not somthing that is required by law but understandably many people do have these. Once it was understood, I was accepted in with my carer and assistance dog. We went to get some lunch, I have complex mental health alongside autism and adhd, eating food is a very difficult process for me to navigate and I can not thank the staff within the cafe for there absolute wonderful approach towards me. The cafe staff should be so proud of themselves, alongside the chef. Wonderful team and now a place I know I can go and feel accepted and accommodated. Well done! It is a shame the reception staff were a little less understanding or aware of different types of...
Read moreExcellent glorious underrated facility with its famous Mossman collection of carriages dating back to the seventeenth century. Also Vauxhall cars and an interesting perspective on early Luton. There are delightful knot gardens and agricultural museums depicting rural live in Victorian times. The grounds are extensive with an equestrian centres for children with ponies and dressage. There is a shop selling beautifully crafted items and a restaurant. The outbuildings are substantial and formed part of the original Stockwood House a glorious Queen Anne mansion unfortunately demolished by an irresponsible council in the 1950’s there are glorious rare trees in the grounds and a redundant haha. There is also a municipal golf course adjacent to the park. I attended a thirty stall craft market run the second Sunday in every month. I suggest joining the Luton Cultural website which keeps you informed of events including the fabulous Hat Factory and its...
