"THATCHERS ROCK GREEN" with seating for visitors to sit and relax. Nearby, their are stunning views toward, "THATCHERS ROCK', " BERRY HEAD" and "BRIXHAM". The island of " THATCHERS ROCK" stands tall above the "THE BAY WATERS", which can be calm or decorated with white horse wave tops. The channel between displays rip tides which attracts " CORMARANTS" airing their wings on the high peaks of "THATCHERS ROCK". Other "SEA BIRDS" rest on the island or fly acrobatically with the gusting winds, the currents that flow over the island, with blue white waves breaching over the lower rocks. Stormy weather produces ambient clear afternoon "RAINBOWS". Just down the road is a viewing area, where you can also see " THATCHERS ROCK", the wooded cliff tops. Overall, this is an area favoured by the " "AFFLUENT RICH"...... Perhaps, such people should pay a yearly, exceptional view tax?...... Just look at these exclusively designed large and lavishly expensive houses, adjacent to " THATCHERS...

Often over looked little area, of torbay, offering great views back into the bay and across to brixham, grassed area ideal for all ages quite a few bench's spread out, free parking, on the road, not plentiful though, offers a short coast path on the seaward side for even more view points however not for small children unattended, few steps down at first, then gentle 10 circular walk to bring you back to the green ( Access to the path is at either end of the grassed area) plenty of elite residencies to admire , torbays, millionaire,s...

A really pleasant place to relax for an hour; spacious grassland with benches offering views down to Thatcher Rock and across Torbay framed by pine trees. Some hollows in the ground are retained by stone walls giving the feel of a rock garden. Popular with dog walkers and those taking a picnic. Free parking in Ilsham Marine Drive at the top of the site, but the nearest toilets are at Meadfoot Beach, a couple of minutes drive away. The garden links to the South West coast path opening up opportunities for...

Stunning views, and the perfect picnic spot. Sat on the grass or one of the many benches, gazing down the verdant sloping meadow towards the tranquil sea and the impressive edifice of Thatcher's Rock beyond, replete with Romantic ruin; a family of giggling children playing hide-and-seek amid the trees and bushes; a couple of gleeful dogs bounding up to each other in sheer joy, What could be nicer? Addendum: the 'ruin' is, in fact, a natural rock foromation.

A lovely place to sit and enjoy the great views while having a picnic on one of the benches. You can park right next to the spot if you drive along Ilsham Marine Drive (well worth the trip) or it is only a short walk (uphill) from Meadfoot beach. Hopes Nose a few hundred metres away is also a great spot to visit to see fossils, great views or for anglers.

Nice, little place. Good place to stop off to enjoy the scenic, coastal views, have a walk with the dog or have a nice sunbathe. Climbed down to the rocks and went in the little cave. Nothing overly exciting but it's worth the look. The water was a nice temperature, beginning of June on a day with temperatures in the low 20s (degrees Celsius).
