Such an amazing place and absolutely fantastic and unique day out. On arrival we were given a small pamphlet that had pictures with certain points within the site on it with a little tick box for marking off once you found them. This just sparked my kids adventure mode and we set off looking for the first few places.

There are twists and turns everywhere, multiple routes, some short cuts and inevitably some dead ends. All this coupled with novel things to spot, that even adults can enjoy not to mention plants and shrubbery to duck in and under as well as hidden water traps that spray you when you are least expecting them. Tight twisting tunnels and stairways that can get a little claustrophobic for some but there is always a cut through (marked "Chicken Door") for an easier route, and also some higher areas with great views of the Yorkshire Dales.

It was like falling down the proverbial rabbit hole!

We spent a couple of hours finding the first half of places before heading back to the canteen for something to eat.

The food was well priced and the variety of food available was huge, service was quick despite being very busy, my only gripe was we sat outside to eat and was mobbed by wasps (nothing a few liquid bug traps couldn't easily solve)

We then headed back out to hunt down the other places we hadn't yet found. We spent five hours in the place which is well worth the entry fee and more so.

Toilets are dotted about but can be tricky to find when in the thick of the site, and buggies can be used but will only go so far, this place is best left for doing by foot if you want to get to all areas so carry straps are the best idea for little tots.

The staff were friendly and courteous and the souvenir shop is well stocked and good value. Its a bit hard to say much more about the place without spoilers but this place is a must for any budding adventurer.

Just a pointer ... your going to get wet so don't wear your Sunday best and if its raining (like when we went) your going to get very wet and muddy especially if your ducking in and out of all the plants, nooks and crannies!!!!

Can't rate this place enough will be going again...

I was very excited for visiting here. Unfortunately only tickets near the end of the day were available so we entered I think at 1600 (about 3 hours I think until they closed).

The idea of the place is great. There was so much to see and explore, and it really was fascinating. Some areas even tranquil (with one caveat).

HOWEVER. and I realise that it's my "fault" for visiting late in the day, during a school holiday. But ... The place was just far too crowded! The tickets have timed entry, but frankly I don't think anyone was checking the entry times. And there no control over what time people leave.

So, by the end of the day, you still have people who entered in the morning or early afternoon - and so everywhere is just rammed full of people. This unfortunately really takes the magic and thrill out of exploring, as there's always someone ahead of you you're trying to follow around.

Plus, you're told at the entrance to close doors behind you to allow the next group to enjoy the magic, but it appears 95% of people don't follow this. Even the doors which are meant to be locked are left wide open.

I get that it's a family experience, but unfortunately that means I don't really recommend this for couples as the shear number of screaming over stimulated children running around with little to no supervision is frankly quite stressful.

Again, I really liked the gardens and the inside areas. The themes and just oddities were brilliant. I lot of effort and thought has gone in to this. And frankly, if I were the only person there - it would be up there with one of the coolest places I've ever been to. If there was an appropriate number of people there, who were actually respectful of others trying to enjoy the experience it would be a 5/5 star.

People even leave rubbish all over the place. I feel bad criticizing the venue for the lack of decency of their patrons, but a lot could be improved by simply having less people in at one time, and perhaps patrolling around more often collecting rubbish and...

A very disappointing experience. Very overpriced for what it was, costing £88 for a family of 5. There were way too many people in at one time and we had to constantly back up to allow people to pass. The only reason it states it will take you two to three hours to get round the place is because you spend so long waiting to walk down tiny narrow paths to then realise there is nothing worth seeing at the end of it. Parts of it may amuse little kids I suppose but then again they may become extremely frustrated by the constant queuing. I wouldn't have minded the useless map and the fact we kept getting lost as this would have added to the day and made it last a bit longer but the fact you had to wait so long to backtrack if you took a wrong turn due to the volume of people just started to get annoying. For an open space, the amount of people made it all feel very claustrophobic. All this being said, the worst part of the day was the fact that there was no running water, not a fault of this venue obviously it can't be helped but the attraction should not have been open. There were no working toilets. In the end the staff were allowing the use of the cafe toilets but as they were not flushing they were so blocked by the time we got to them that it was actually disgusting and there was nowhere to wash hands. All those people walking round the attraction having used the disgusting facilities, touching door handles etc actually made me feel sick. You have to book tickets in advance so they had our contact information. The tickets should have been cancelled and the venue should have closed for hygiene and safety. What an absolute waste of over £100 if you count entry, petrol and food and a day of our holiday. Had to leave in the end as no one was having a good time and could not face going into those toilets again. Feels almost criminal to have had our money taken off us for what was actually on offer. No value for money whatsoever. Pretty sure we should be entitled...
