I went there yesterday with a 4yo and a 7yo. We purchased tickets online but you can buy them at the door. There is plenty of car park spaces and it's free to park. It's buggy friendly. I have seen people bringing wagons with picnic in it. Toilets, baby changing areas, hand washing stations, everything there. I wish only there was a toilet by the playground area as both toilets are by the entrance. Nothing by the other end. We came just after 10 and left after 5. We went to see animals first, there is a lot to see here. The playgrounds are fun. Air filled pillow-jumping areas, water filled jumping pillows, climbing castles, sand pit with water, my kids were impressed and busy all day. All around the place are benches with tables suitable for picnic. If you hungry, you go back to entrance and there are two places to eat- one with pizza and drinks only, second with jackets potatoes, chicken nuggets etc. Menu is not rich but you csn choose something. I wish they would sell hot dogs or burgers. I won't mention a nice hot soup 😋. By the food area you have imaginary barn. It is super cool! Beautiful place for pictures and so much fun inside. Outside on hot days you have water play area where kids can cool down while keeping busy playing and you can eat your food while keeping an eye on them. I made my kids wear trainers, it was good choice for climbing bits on playground as it is plenty to do and it wasn't that hot- around 20 degrees. I would definitely recommend trainers, but when it's hot, it's hot- sandals. Inside the food area, you have massive soft play, in two parts. It is one food-hall with plays area. My kids loved it, only here we spent over 2h. Coffee is good. Food is good. They have places where you can do, bbq marshmallows. They are selling it on wooden sticks, you get two marshmallow. It is fun for kids to do bbq it themselves. Staff is super friendly I had chance to speak to quite few people working there and everyone was super kind and helpful. It didn't feel like they there doing slavery job like in some other farm places 😅 they looked like, they are enjoying it. Place is well taken care off. I would definitely recommend it for...
Read moreAn important note! This applies to people with prams. Unless your pram has large wheels, which ours do not, it is really difficult to push the buggy because the wheels get stuck! It is a gravel type of track! Travel: we travelled by car. It was a bit confusing how to reach the car park, but luckily there was staff to help direct us to the right path! The parking spaces were large enough so there is no worries of your door being smashed. The cost is £1 per hour!
The important part of the review: how good is it for the kids? For kids under 12, they will have an amazing time. There is a lot to see and do, and the most important, is that they find it fun. I found it impressive there were people dressed up. Looking for the green gravel that represents gems was a nice bonus! The soft play was good and for once, the price of food was reasonable. The seating area is beautiful! There is a lot of exciting things!
Just a note: one slide in the largest building is a bit violent. My son flew down and he smashed his head! And he was hurt, but still alive.
The price: it might sound really expensive to go in, but considering how long you stay there, it is a really good deal. I say it was worth the price! Although £18 for a family of 5 is a large amount of money! Most place charge £15 quid for just two hours, so when you divide this with the time spent, it is not much.
I don’t usually do this, but a special shout out to ANUM! At the end of the day, she was so polite and welcoming! She definitely is worth mentioning! ANUM is a gem of a staff. Well done.
I write reviews for kids' activities around the London area, being a family man, fun for my kids is the aim! This is a non paid, unsponsored review. I just do this for fun. Feedback from you is really great as I want to make sure the information is not BIAS…if you made it this far, please hit the like button so I know that the content is useful! Thanks...
Read moreVisiting Hobbledown in Epsom is like stepping into a fairytale playground with something for everyone. The mix of outdoor adventure and indoor magic makes it a top pick for family days out. From the moment you arrive, there’s a sense of imagination everywhere — winding pathways, castles with turrets, twisty tunnels, and plenty of grassy meadows. Children can clamber over forts, bounce on jumping pillows, and splash in water play, while the Imaginarium offers a sensory treat with critters, interactive exhibits, caves, and watery installations to explore.
The animal areas — including farm and zoo-type enclosures — are spacious and varied. Lemurs, camels, meerkats, alpacas, and birds of prey all feature, and many enclosures feel more like natural habitats than cages. Staff are generally helpful and enthusiastic. The indoor playbarn is a boon when the weather turns, with role-play zones, soft play for the little ones, and vertical trampolines.
That said, the experience isn’t flawless. Many visitors feel the entry price is steep, especially when additional charges are tacked on for “extras” like special animal interactions or high ropes. Parts of the park (animal walkthroughs, certain activities) are sometimes closed, and signage or staff presence can be inconsistent. Cleanliness in busy areas (toilets, soft play) is occasionally criticised, and food options are decent though not outstanding for the cost.
Overall, Hobbledown is a vibrant experience that delights most children and families. If you go in with realistic expectations about cost, potential queues or closures, and plan for weather-appropriate clothing and spare clothes for water play, you’ll likely come away very happy. A solid 8/10 for charm, variety, and...
