The wonderful Horton Country Park 1½ miles west of Epsom, is easy to get to if you are driving with plenty of parking spaces. It is a wonderful place to visit as it has various paths around the grounds and is stunningly beautiful with a little sunshine. Horton Park makes for a great walk in the cooler of weathers too however, you will need to wrap up warm. You can choose what paths you take and set yourself a walking mileage plan. This place is great for walkers and cyclists and a wonderful spot for families. There is plenty of space to find a very quiet area for your picnic. The seasons have so much to offer with changing views as the year progresses. We have been going for years and love every visit. We do cheat and take coffee and snacks, great for picnics. Barbecue stands can be hired, not sure on price as we have always takes our own picnic. I am always armed with my camera and always come back with some wonderful pictures, this time we saw the end of the Bluebells season, spotting white bells too lol. Keep your eyes peeled for the wildlife as it is all over and you have to be alert to capture animal antics.

It is a very large park that includes a golf course (not in use due to lockdown) and you can see a number of animals through the fence to Hobbledown Farm. It has many pedestrian entrances making it easy to reach on foot from different directions. It can get very muddy in places, and you can hear road noise in some places but in others it can be quite peaceful. It seemed to be very popular with walkers, cyclists, runners and dogs.

Access to the 15 mile Thames Link walk or a 2.5-3 mile walk on decent paths. Paths were well sign-posted. Wear boots if weather is poor, particularly if you want to go off-track to pond wood walk. Dog can be off-leash, just keep an eye out for the odd horse-rider. Toilet facilities, free parking (muddy and severely pot-holed though!) but no cafe. Multiple dog poo bins, so it was clean. An enjoyable dog walk with plenty of wildlife.

Lovely country park in the heart of Surrey within the M25. It lies adjacent to a golf course and is also home to stables. The park is dog-friendly and is ideal for joggers too. It has many pathways and the outer route has a distance of about 5km. Highly recommended.
