My son and I visited this museum on 5 May, the national bank holiday to celebrate the Europe Victory of WW2. To say this is an automobile museum is a gross understatement. In my view, it is a war museum, specialized for the WW2 items from generals' vehicles, combat and military vehicles, motorcycles and bikes. It has memorabilia such as medals, military supplies, and replica of army barracks, etc. my son and I had the great honor to meet the original collector's wife who serves at the museum cafe, and talked to the current owner who is the son the late collector. For those who visited Windsor Castle and Eton College, not coming to this museum (which is less than 2 miles away from Eton) would be a great shame. It is a must-go-to attraction of this area. I feel it was our privilege to visit this museum on the Europe Victory day and we will come again with family and friends in future. Long live the memory of Great Britain's glory...
Read moreThis is a great visit for young and old, boys and girls of all ages, with some really nice specimens of all types of vehicles many with a historical background and in great condition. There are also a lot of other historical items which add to the atmosphere which are such venues lack which is an additionsl bonus. (Toys, uniforms, bycycles, a real installed Anderson shelter that you can get in and much more than you would ever expect, even a V1 rocket!) It is unique and must be done. Being family run they are very keen to share information and history in a very personal way making the visit warm and friendly. The neat café was open all day and made a nice break halfway through. We will certainly have to go again. What a little known treasure. We hope it will last forever. Must be seen and must...
Read moreOff the beaten track but well worth a visit. This is a small museum, but with a massive hit. First of all there’s the vehicles. You see them appear as you approach the car park. They’ve got everything from cars used in films, through military, and emergency cars and vans. That’s on the outside! Inside there’s more. A lot of war time memorabilia, including an Anderson shelter, more vehicles, and Uniforms. There’s also a small Princess Diana display and tribute. End the visit with a visit to the N.A.F.f.I, where i got the best cheese and ham toastie I’ve ever had. Great value for money, and a really interesting couple of hours well spent. It’s only open on last Sunday of month, and Bank Holidays, so check first, oh, and they don’t accept bank...
