Darran Park — Attraction in Ferndale

The lake is beautiful and peaceful, can stroll all the way around or relax on one of the benches. There is also a Park for the kids to play in or the AstroTurf where there is a running track and football goals. There is also a basketball court for a bit more fun. Many kids like to hide RCT rocks up there, so thats something else for the kids to enjoy. There is also a big area of grass which is perfect for a little picnic. If you wanted you could easily spend a good 4+ hours up here, like I did with the kids. There are also public toilets if needed, they are not the best but they do the job for when you...

The Park itself is lovely, as visitors who were house hunting in Ferndale, we loved it,was peaceful and pretty. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view. However, the council or whoever runs the toilets need to seriously clean them up, they are disgusting, I've never seen Public toilets as bad . Can't be good with Covid going...

Lovely park let down by poor upkeep by the park wardens. Drains always overflow in the rain. Generally untidy. The playground needs revamping. The kids can't play on the astro turf any more as it's locked. The cow field is always water logged in anything other than hot summer so you can't play on there....
