We came down here on a peaceful sunny day, I brought along a little foldout chair, and setup shop against the cliffs, sun out in front of me over the sea. It was the most tranquillity I had felt in a very long time. The only sounds were small waves lapping up.

I wish I had more time to enjoy it, but the tide was coming, more on which follows.

The beach itself is much smaller, and rockier than other seafronts nearby, which might make this less suitable for children.

Do watch out for incoming tides - they move unusually quick! An area of flat level rock I went to stand on for a photo, followed an easily accessible path, and I took a photo from this point. Not 2 minutes later, the path I took was completely underwater - Do consider double checking tide times (Bridlington / Filey area) if you wish to wander along the front. There are some rocks a few feet higher up, you can scramble to safety as a last resort, but these are almost impossible to navigate across for anything beyond a few meters.

Remember that tide times vary drastically all along the UK coastline!

Although there are no services of any kind on the beach, there are some large squarish rocks positioned (perhaps flood defences) at a level to be sat - back towards the carpark (aka Danes Dyke) is a cafe/seating area.

Unfortunately the car park - like many council run carparks, is another excuse to extort money from people, you pay ahead...

A lovely quiet beach away from the buzz of nearby seaside towns. Car park on site (pay and display) and a takeaway cafe and toilets. Lovely, secluded beach, a bit rocky at first, then on to the beautiful sand. If not steady on your feet, it would be difficult.

The short, sloped walk to the beach was lovely and passes through a nature reserve. You can easily walk along the coastline or up on the cliff tops. An interesting and ancient site- highly recommended if you’re in the area.

Stunning views on the beach that go on for miles. Never really gets busy which is nice, very private and peaceful. Water is crystal clear right down to the bottom, even when swimming out deep. The beach itself is quite rocky with lots of pebbles but suitable for kids and dogs. Kids loved rock pooling and splashing around in the...

I almost don’t want to review this place as I don’t want to share it with more people.

It’s a great spot. The cafe in the car park has the basics to make it a comfortable stop. There are clean toilets. The car park is cheap enough and you can pay using the local payment app (massive bonus).

The woodland is nice and relaxing. But the beach is the best part. Down a steep hill, you access a mainly sandy beach. It’s not the cheesy seaside resort type of beach that you get in Bridlington, but a peaceful and clean quiet beach for the kids to play on happily.

The sand is good, the water seems clean and it’s just right for a...

Great stretch of shoreline to enjoy. Here you can take in views of the cliffs and the wide open sea, away from the beaten track. Ideal for the young and old to enjoy and explore. There is some fantastic rocks to be found here, many with holes in them which have been carved out by nature - these make great ornaments for the home and awesome souvenirs of your visit. It's easy enough to get here, it's just a short walk along a wooded pathway from the Danes Dyke Kiosk carpark. But it can be slippery when wet and its on an incline, so may not suit everyone if your not too good on your feet, but well worth the effort. Lovely little spot 👍
