Stopped here for a 4night stay in a bronze van. Upon arrival (check in allocated was 3-4pm) didn't like late check in but never mind. Traffic was a little backed up but two staff welcoming sorted through rapidly. Very welcoming kind staff. Parks a smaller site and so found the van within 5 minutes (52 hobby hollow) Appeared were ever you end up entertainment is close by. Van was clean (not ready but clean) on arrival. Also had a balcony so banging bonus there. Park was big for a smaller site. Plenty for the kids to do and being so close to the restraunt and chippy was ideal. Have a pint order food and watch kids have a wale of a time. Noticed another park nearer hobby hollow and the chalet area which we liked. Was smaller but quieter. Site was clean and tidy though with all the rain was very water logged (we was warned prior via haven app) Used the my serve app here too. Some tables missing on the app in the main entertainment which was annoying as I prefer to have table service and avoid ques but hey ho. Arcade is tiny and when is ay tiny it's tiny... no racing car game which I really enjoy with the kids. Entertainment venue is small and very loud. Though entertainment it's self was good. Appeared to be bingo, kids entertainment more bingo every night though could be wrong as we left due to noise at 7:30pm every night. Don't mind noise in abugger venue but it's a small gaf and just reverberates too much for my liking. Over all happy loved the break located just out of town and close to other places...
Read moreStunning but Dangerous – Paddleboarding with Caution
This bay is undeniably beautiful – a hidden gem with crystal-clear waters, dramatic cliffs, and a real sense of adventure. However, accessing it is not easy. The descent is steep, followed by a staircase, and then you’ll need to climb over large rocks to reach the water or go through a cave.
We went paddleboarding here, but I feel it's important to warn others: there is a dangerous riptide that pulls you out to sea, and it is extremely difficult to paddle against. During our visit, we got caught in the current and struggled to make our way back to the caves. It was exhausting and quite frightening.
We weren’t the only ones. Two other paddleboarders got stranded on a rock and had to be rescued by the coastguard. A woman and her young child were knocked off their paddleboard by a wave and had to abandon it, swimming back to shore for safety.
This location, while breathtaking, is risky for paddleboarding. It's an incredible adventure – we even lost one of our fins to underwater rocks while navigating the caves and had to dash back to the car for a spare – but the risks are real.
Please be warned:
Only paddleboard here if you're experienced and equipped with proper safety gear, including a life vest.
Be a strong swimmer.
Take extra care if bringing children – even teenagers.
Check tide and weather conditions beforehand, and don’t underestimate the power of the sea here.
It's a stunning place, but not one to...

Having decided to go to flamborough head.which was a great experience.but not alot of things to do when you are down there.we headed off again and saw a sign for thornwick bay .so we thought why not.was only 5 mins away.enterance to car park is just of main road.with a guy charging 1.50 to park.but that's all day . there's a notice board at the top of the bay.which details the history of the bay . notably smugglers caves.which made us more interested.walking down the path to the bay is very steep and uneven.so make sure you have good walking shoes..but once at the bottom it is totally amazing.with great big boulders.scatterd around.. there's the smugglers caves to the right which are awesome.but there's only one accessable really unless you are brave.?. You can go around the headland to the left of the bay .but only if you are steady under foot.as there is no path.its only achievable over big scattered boulders. But once you get there its worth the effort.😉 Its totally amazing.. Happy...
