Murton Farm, Tearoom and Nature Reserve — Attraction in Forfar

This was the best venue for our son’s second birthday party! So many people commented on what an amazing space the tipi area was for a party! The mud kitchen provided was the biggest hit with the children and they absolutely loved our visit from the guinea pigs and tortoises! The staff were so friendly and helpful! I was amazed by all the options for ‘add-ons’ when we first booked… it was so hard to pick! We also loved that we had the freedom to include our own things too. We ended up doing a treasure hunt and a couple of stations for playdough and colouring-in ourselves and it all worked out perfectly. We were prepared for all eventualities with the weather but I think some of the guests were particularly happy that it stayed bright and dry for us! It would have been fab whatever the weather...

Before I'd left I was planning a trip back! So many cute animals I came away feeling so happy 😊 It's a large expanse of land but not too big that you can't see everything in one trip. You could see some, have a break in the tea room and then go back out. It is farm land but the grass is kept short. There are adventure structures and things to see and do as you go round. The tea room is nice and you can get light lunches and home bakes and souvenirs. You can also buy animal feed to give to the birds and poultry. The walk around the Loch is beautiful. There's lots of picnic tables in front of the cafe and you can order food...

Fab wetland walks, great with 7 and 3 year old - though the poor red squirrels could hear us coming I reckon! Tearoom outstanding, clearly take pride in the food and coffee which was all a delight and the service friendly and welcoming. Trampolines and natural toys were great - just a couple of elements of the playpark needing some TLC but really, that's nit picking because this place is a happy and healthy one and well worth a visit.
