Great country park that's had a lot of thought put into accessibility for everyone! Blue badge/ Disabled parking as you get into the car park, it's free for badge holders in the correct bays, otherwise it's payment on the meter, there's one outside the visitors centre. I think it's card/ remote payment. There's a few walking trails that are well mapped and clearly describe the distance and terrain. Lots of sensory stimulation in a calming environment. The cafe staff are friendly and helpful, having a Dairy Allergy they were knowledgeable in what was safe to eat and what wasn't! I had a rather delicious vegan muffin, freshly made, pistachio, lemon, and chai seed that I would highly recommend 😋 I also had a decaff americano that was a nice to go with it.... £5 as a deal for both! Dog friendly, the cafe did ice cream for dogs as well! Poo bags can be put into the general waste as was stated on a notice I read on site. Lots of benches and picnic benches dotted around.

This beautiful walk is set around 15 minutes from Sarn services and is well worth the trip, for it has several routes you can take. There's a small charge of £3.50 to park, which goes back into the up keep of the area and there is a little wellness centre + cafe and toilet facilities as you hit the car park. Then it's up to you which route you take from there. I spent a good hour and a half walking with a friend through the paths and waste land areas. (Wellies or old shoes are a must) as you do get muddy, but there are a few streams that you can wash most of the dirt off with. Though you carry on walking through it anyway. There's plenty of wildlife to see if you're quiet enough and have a keen eye. I would definitely return there as there are 3 other routes we didn't do due to the change in weather. There is also a playground, as well as it being Dog friendly. There's also a picnic are outside the information centre.

We headed to the cafe in Bryn Garw for lunch while on a walk. Unfortunately, we were informed that the chef doesn't work on a Wednesday/Thursday or Friday. This severely limited our choice to a range of cakes! We both had coffee; latte & cappuccino. On the plus side Dogs are allowed into the seating area which is flooded with natural light via an expanse of windows. Although the cafe was busy, mainly due to the school holidays, the environment wasn't noisy. There are outdoor tables available too, some of which are undercover. The park itself makes a great destination for walkers with a slow running river, a variety of plants & shrubs in the beautiful gardens. You also have an opportunity to shop for well priced plants, planters, garden accessories in the lovely garden centre on site. Highly recommend a visit.

Bryngarw Country Park is a real asset to Bridgend. This is a popular venue for weddings (Bryngarw House) and throughout the year it hosts various events including an open-air cinema and children's workshops. There is a large carpark and it costs just £3.50 (70p each based on 5 people sharing) to park for the whole day.  Within the park there are lots of walks and cycle trails, a river teeming with fish and a woodland full of wild flowers, carved sculptures and historical trees.  There is also a fantastic children's playground, which is well equipped with a long slide, trampolines, climbing equipment and a variety of swings including one designed for wheelchairs.

There is plenty of green space and benches to enjoy a picnic. Alternatively there is a reasonably priced onsite cafe offering hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes, ice-cream, afternoon teas and light refreshments such as sandwiches, sausage rolls and pasties. Other facilities include some outside gym equipment and immaculate toilets with baby changing facilities. We would recommend a visit, because the park is well maintained and is very clean, the scenery is breathtaking, there is lots of wildlife (birds, squirrels, rabbits and butterflies), the park is great for people wanting a cheap day out and is very...

Set in lovely wooded surroundings this park has lots to offer. It cost £3 to park all day and there are toilets, cafe and children's play area on site. I went with a friend to recce a 2.5 mile walk around the park. Although quite muddy from the recent heavy rain, this was a very pretty walk through woodland following the river. There are plenty of different walk options for all ages and abilities or you could just saunter around the Japenese style gardens. Dotted around were large oriental wooden sculptures. Sadly many of these were damaged and rotting and some of the wooden boardwalk were also rotten or entirely missing. There were signs that some had been replaced but there was definitely an air of neglect about the place. Our return route took us past a charming lake alive with ducks a dabbling. We were very impressed with the cafe, first sampling their latte and then ordering a sandwich lunch. These were delicious with a choice of wholemeal bread and chock full of tasty filling, accompanied with crisps and a fresh and fruity side salad. Reasonably priced too. Would definitely visit again and...

A lovely place for a walk with the dogs and kids. Plenty of walking routes which range from smooth tarmac paths to muddy/rocky tracks. There are also open areas in which you can relax and appreciate the beautiful surroundings along with various garden areas and places to sit down and enjoy including ponds. The play area has a great selection of equipment for children and adults alike some of which are for those with ability issues. They have a wheelchair swing and merry-go-round which is also accessible. There is a cafe on site near the parking area which only does take out at the moment but I have eaten in there previously and the food was delicious. The toilets are always clean and in a good state which is a surprise since a lot of places like this the facilities tend to get vandalised. There is a large parking area which you do have to pay a small fee to use, not sure how much off the top of my head, but we pay for an annual pass which is great value for money, as we use the...
