Gelligaer Roman Fort — Attraction in Gelligaer

Gelligaer is an ancient community with a Roman past that was hidden until Edwardian archaeologists started to excavated Gaer Fawr and Gaer Fach and confirmed that there was a Roman Fort hidden beneath the grass. Really nothing to see, farmers land with horses on it, you can't even get on the field, there are a few notice boards for you to read, but...

Such a shame the site was dug up and stoned used for other purposes leaving just a field and a few bumps. Good information boards and a slightly broken display you can look through to see what it would have been like.

It'd be great if it could be rebuilt and used as a hotel, but I guess this site is destined to just be used to...

As other reviews say it is just a field. There is a sign talking about the history of the site and as glass panel giving an illustration of what the site may have looked like in Roman times.
