A wonderful park for families with young kids but decidedly NOT for maturer citizens or, like myself, the disabled. Staff at the office were very friendly and were the one redeeming feature of the park. When driving in beware of the speed ramps, they are nigh on invisible and if you are, like ourselves, towing a caravan I shall leave that to your imagination. Also as I have already said I am disabled and unfortunately in a lot of pain, these ramps were a nightmare every time and my husband drives with great care so as to cause me as little pain as possible. The caravan site is well laid out but the water is quite a distance away and we ended up bringing our recycling home with us. The Sluice room was rancid, water for rincing out your container and cleaning the sluice was inadequate to say the least. Are you there to see the castle? It's private! I wanted to see the deer in the Deer Park, either they were not there or the Deer Park is very large and I was in the wrong place, every time! On a positive note the park is very close to Armagh City, going out of the gate you simply turn right and...

A more appropriate entrance fee would be £2 to park. Even then I would expect the trails to be marked out properly as there is a risk of getting lost in the dark in the winter. The brown trail was missing markers at the point where the red bridge is located. It was impossible to avoid joining a bike trail. We found the brown trail again at certain points which really just emphasised the markers that were missing. £5 is overpriced for this public amenity. The coffee van stopped serving sandwiches at 4.30pm. There was no queue at the fast food trailer, why don’t they diversify and sell coffee & healthy food to the walkers? A beautiful forest with interesting architectural features but I would like the council to get it to a standard that would encourage...

Gosford Forest Park is a little out of the way, there are many great parks closer to Newtownards, but it had been recommended by a number of friends for the Kids friendly bike trails. We weren't disappointed. The trails have been designed for beginners to average riders, thrill seekers need not apply but the trails on offer are fantastic for helping the young ones build confidence. There is also a new adventure park which the kids loved, after finishing with the bikes. Only a couple of negatives, the catering vans for coffee etc, use generators which are loud and definitely break the tranquility, there are enough out buildings to house a 'proper' coffee shop and I've no idea why this hasn't been implemented. Apart from that Gosford is will...

We stayed here and absolutely loved it. Quiet site mostly, great trails and the children loved exploring on their bikes all day before having smores in the evenings. It's 2 minutes away from Markethill for takeaways, shops or even a pubstop! I marked it down for 3 reasons - the constant cutting of grass, he literally drove around us on the mower. 3 days of constant mowing noise, it spoiled it. The lack of EHU for tents and its in serious need of a washroom. Brushing teeth in toilets isn't ideal and there's only one sink in the showers, which were constantly flooded. Weather was wet so facilities were under pressure. All in all we had a great time, 2 adults and 5 children ranging from 5 to 13. We are already planning a return trip.

Very nice park to walk and ride the bike. Plenty places to play for kids and explore the nature! Always well organised and clean with plenty of car park spaces! As extra you always have same cafes, snacks and ice cream available to buy.

Nice walks but can be very busy. This has been a regular walking destination for us for many years and there are plenty of walks of differing lengths. It's popularity has increased massively particularly since the playparks were upgraded /installed and the bike trails put in. It can be exceptionally crowded near the car park but it is possible to leave the crowds behind if you are prepared to walk on some of the longer trails. The parking fees are expensive if you live locally but fine if you intend spending most of the day here. The only real problem is the behaviour of a few mountain bikers who seem to care nothing about walkers, where the walking and bike trails cross or are shared.
