A Scenic Adventure This hike offers a delightful blend of challenge and reward. The initial ascent, though steep, is well worth the effort. As you climb higher, you'll be treated to breathtaking vistas that stretch out as far as the eye can see. The landscape is a patchwork of rolling hills, lush meadows, and ancient woodlands, creating a truly picturesque scene. Once you reach the summit, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views that are simply awe-inspiring. Take a moment to soak in the beauty of the surrounding countryside, and you'll understand why this hike is so popular. The descent can be a bit challenging, especially in wet conditions, but it's a small price to pay for the stunning views. The trail winds through a variety of landscapes, offering a constantly changing backdrop. As you descend, you'll have the opportunity to appreciate the intricate details of the terrain from a different perspective. Overall, this hike is a fantastic way to connect with nature and challenge yourself physically. It's a perfect choice for those who enjoy a good hike and appreciate the beauty of the outdoors.

Hidden gem on the way to Skafell Pike. If tarns are your thing you've got a blinder right here! When we visited it was partially iced over which gave the feel that we were somewhere in Scandinavia, not England. Truly exceptional!

A great spot for wild camping and wild swimming. There are lots of grassy spots around the tarn for camping or a picnic. The water is clear and quite warm (Early June). Respect the location and take all your rubbish home!

Stayed there for a night of "leave no trace" wildcamping. Great little uphill hike to get there and lovely place to stay. Very quiet area. If you stay over night, bring some earplugs as the local geese are very noisy - day and night. Will be coming...
