Paid parking lot. We opted to go after the visitor centre was closed in hopes it would be less busy. Had no problem finding parking. Completely unplanned but also arrived just in time to speed walk to the view point to see the last train, I can't remember the exact time maybe 6:09pm. The walk is short, easy to navigate but up a hill. We did the viewpoint to the left (if you're back is to the lake). But that train travels towards Fort William so if you want to see the train come towards you then go to the other side. I would say the walk to the view point is 15 minutes if you walk really fast but more comfortable and allow you to pick your spot give yourself 30-45 min. Pretty cool to see as a HP fan. Would've been nice to see the gift shop as they looked like they had some nice local artist work in the windows but also not worth it reading some other reviews about how crazy it can be here during the day We did the whole loop. Some ok views of the lake from the loop. Train is very well maintained here, lots of boardwalks.They are building a mini train track near the train station along this loop, it wasn't running but looked adorable. After you get to the train station the loop continues down a single track road that isn't very busy but has some cute house to look at. We didn't make it to the waterfront at the end of the loop as they were doing road construction on the parking lot and were about to put down asphalt and didn't want to get that on the...
