Simply Otherworld, this is. There's no place like Yr Wyddfa (Mt Snowdon) and the range of surrounding peaks. I expected Y Tylwyth Teg (the Fae) to emerge around any corner, and I wasn't disappointed to find what, from a distance, looks like a door to Otherworld (see photos). The Miner's Track provides ample parking (though it's best to reserve ahead of time), as well as a pub that supports the attached Youth Hostel. The trail is winding but of manageable grade for this 60-year-old. That said, I was too out-of-shape to scale Yr Wyddfa Herself, but the amazing views, the clear air, the fairytale lakes, and the old miners' ruins more than made up for my lack of fitness and adventure. Plus, pilgrim hikers along the way are cheery and helpful. I'll let the photos speak for themselves as to what meets you in the magikal realm...

The views Are stunning. You Will meet loads of sheep. Through the track you Will see lakes, beautiful mountains. The problem for me was elevation. The track wasnt hard until the last lake. I am begginer tourist. I don't recommend it for people who have a problem with heights. It was also challenging at times because I have asthma and the elevation is mainly at the end of the trail, so you have to "climb" the rock. I understand that an experienced hiker will have no problem with a trail like this and will find it easy. In the course of climbing, I got used to it as well. Always check the forecast and buy...

Winter time is hard to see the wonderful views because of the fog. However it does set a wonderful mood for photos. Going up the miners route to join the PYG truck is incredibly challenging in bad weather conditions I’d highly recommend for anyone who is doing it for the first time to make sure they download a route or anything that can truck puffs like off-line GPS or something. And make sure you’re well equipped because the weather can change at any moment but always double check the weather before you go other than that it is absolutely phenomenal. This route has the most fantastic views. I will totally...

It's a very good track, even for first timers and families. I travelled with my dog and my kids, 11 and 16, but other people had smaller kids and they were just fine. It's a long way, uphill. The beginning is flat but the rest is never ending steps made out of stones😆 A few times you have to use hands to pull yourself up but nothing dangerous. If you have a small dog like me I suggest getting a dog backpack because it could be too much for him. We also had hiking shoes. They hold ground perfectly. The way there is tiring but very rewarding in the end. And the way down is faster.
