Life’s been a little busier and slower for us lately, but we finally made it back out exploring ✨ North Third Reservoir is such a gem - just 15 minutes from Stirling (40 mins from Glasgow) and perfect for a family day out. It’s a circular, easy hike that takes around 2 hours - though it took us longer because we couldn’t resist a long picnic by the water 🥪 📍 Parking: Stirling FK7 9QS 🌿 Family-friendly, picnic-perfect and views that stretch all the way to the Highland Bens Save this for your next easy hike with little legs ✨ #scotlandtravel #visitscotland #scotland #family #norththird

Free and large area for walking, be aware there are steep sections so elderly or wheelchair users may encounter issues on sections leading to higher crags area. Parking is abit hit and miss as you just park on the side of the road and professional dog walkers use this area to walk large packs of dogs not under any control or on leads. Views are great and is a nice area in county side. Good walks.

Great place for a dog walk. A little treacherous in places, especially after rain, but very enjoyable with great views at the summit. Definitely recommend a good pair of walking boots and perhaps walking poles if you are less able bodied. At a reasonable pace it takes about 1.5 hours to do the full lap, around 4 miles in length. We will be adding this to our repertoire.

Lovely walking trail around the reservoir. Takes about 2-3 hours to complete. Involves climbing up the Lewis hill. Wonderful views across the valley towards Trossachs and around Stirling. Good hiking boots recommended for the hilly part...
