Came for my son's 2nd birthday. Not a birthday package or anything. Just turned up , no booking, me little one and 4 others. Cost us £110 for all 6 of us.... Expensive, but worth it!!! Gift store you can go to in and out of at any time. We didn't get anything because we just paid £110 so felt very broke after that... Anyway... We came in and there's loads of space for the kids to play with the playgrounds, sand pits and ride on trucks. My little one was too young older it all and I didn't want sand in my car, but for a day out with older kids aged 4+, definitely worth it for a good few hours. We went to the first animal place we saw which was pen for the sheep and goats. My little one loved it. We had bought 2 packets of animal feed as well and my 2 year old was obsessed with feeding the goats !!! Honestly he could have done it for hours. Half expected him to leave there with an employment contract. It was so clean and well kept and my 2 year old had NO FEAR AT ALL in shoving his hand in the animals mouth with the animal feed. There were a fair amount of animal feed dropped by others that had been there before us, aswell as my son dropping some. He just didn't want to leave. They had bunnies there you could touch and they were sooooooo amazingly soft to touch. My son was not interested but it was a little moment I took for myself. Such a good de-stresser ! Upon leaving the animal pens, which had a hand wash station with running and well temperatures water and well stocked soap, we then came across the crazy golf. I had brought my 50+ year old mum with me who wanted to do it, but little one is too young to understand it and no assault some one with a cold club. Mum would have loved it if we did it. Maybe next year mum ! We then came across the sheep sheering show but I don't think little one was interested. Again, another thing to do next year or the year after ( we are definitely coming back by the way, without a doubt) lots of barns for activities of all ages. Lots of play parks everywhere on site of all sizes some even had a little water park with some fountains (child friendly) for them to enjoy on a hot day. We then went and played some football which little one was still grasping the concept of..... Kept reminding him to use his feet and not his hands for a football but he will get there.... One day .. I hope hahaha, maybe he's a rugby sort of boy. Who knows. We then had a tractor ride which happens every hour which we all loved as a family. Our tractor driver was very friendly and lovely. And have us a clear easy to follow safety briefing, once we got off we went to the furthest part of the farm and saw the variety of different breeds of chickens. It was amazing and they looked so funny and cute. We then headed home and my son fell asleep in the back of the car. What an eventful day! there was a cafe there we nipped into a couple of times to get some hot and cold drinks. They sold cakes and all sorts. And juice for the kids.... And me . Was such a fun day out and we loved it. Will definitely be back later in the year and next year for a 3rd birthday.
Thank you to all the staff for keeping it clean. It was fantastic to learn it's a family run farm and the family engaged with guests some times.
Cannot fault it.. except the price but I guess it goes to the farm and the staff as well as the animals to look after them and keep them well fed and kept.
So much to do. Could easily spend a whole day here. Id recommend to come with kids aged 2 up to 11 years old. Consider bringing a pram if your little kids (aged 2 - 4) don't like to walk around much... Or don't get out at all. Bring suncream and lots of water. For the warmer days you come here. You...
Read moreThe site itself is very impressive, the animals look well kept, the enclosures look good. It is a big site with lots of activities for children to keep them occupied, active and also to learn something valuable about the animals.
We enjoyed feeding the sheep and petting the rabbits. The young lady who was sweeping the pathway clean of wasted feed pellets was friendly and informative, we enjoyed talking to her and she clearly enjoyed her role.
On site is a cafe, Marmalade Cafe where you can purchase hot and cold food. I bought a jacket potato, the salad with the jacket potato was lovely, lots to choose from and very fresh, I also purchased chicken gougons, chips and baked beans for my daughter along with two drinks, total £22.20 as sachets of mayonnaise are £0.50 each!! The lady serving, (there was no service with a smile!) was very curt, my daughter went to pay with cash, £22.50 we were told by the lady, we were lucky as they don't usually take cash but have no change so if we did not pay the exact amount then we would not receive any change. I was a bit taken aback as there were no signs that I could see at the entrance to the cafe or on the till to state this? Maybe its on the web site? My daughter managed to find the £0.22 phew we had the exact money. We handed this over, no thank you, no manner. Not only that the food was not hot, it was indeed cold!! We did not go back up to let the woman know because she was so harsh initially. I did find it ironic that there appeared to be no sign to say we will not take cash unless it is the exact amount, however there is a sign stating hot food when it's not!!
We decided to take the tractor ride, Jake was driving the tractor, he was very informative, we enjoyed the trip and I thought it would be nice to let him know this, why did I bother, the response from Jake, er......nothing.
We were very hot so decided we would buy an ice cream, this was lovely and the young gentleman who served us was very polite which made a difference, manners cose nothing.
We spent the day at Odds Farm, it is lovely, ample parking too but my advice do not take cash and do not expect the...
Read moreTook our 4 y/o Granddaughter & 12 y/o less abled Niece for the day on a last minute change of plan. We were originally going to the London museums but with the sad passing of the Queen we had to change our plan at short notice. There were things to do as we had good weather but it was probably not the best choice for the girls. The younger one enjoyed the play areas but found the farm activities & animals boring. The older one enjoyed the animals & reading all about them but found the play areas difficult as she is unsteady on her feet. We all enjoyed the H2O water play towards the end of the day which wasn't busy as it wasn't the warmest of days but I can imagine that it gets really busy in the summer. Definitely need to take water shoes as it can be slippy. Also need to be careful around the wooden fences, benches & play areas as some of the wood is rough & we ended up with a scratched arm in the fort, pulls on a cardi sleeve from the fences whilst looking at the animals, and a hole in joggers from a rough picnic bench. We were also a bit disappointed to find that although the park closed at 5.30pm, some of the areas started to close from 4pm so we missed out on a few things we had left for later. The outside toilets were closed by 4.30pm so the 4 y/o had a long walk to the ones in the playbarn which were disgusting by 5.15pm. This also led to tears & frustration as we had to go through the play area which was closed by then & staff were trying to clean round us. The only thing that is actually open until 5.30pm was the shop which you had to go through to exit. Really wish places wouldn't use this ploy with small children as we ended up with tears again & the last memory of the day for the 4 y/o is sadness at not being able to buy the contents of the shop rather than happiness at having played all day. Also, when we booked online it said we would get a free game of mini golf but this was by the entrance to the site & never mentioned by the staff when we scanned in. We thought we would leave it until the end so we didn't have to go all the way out & back in again but if course, everything shut down well before...
