Had two visits here, one on a weekday under 13 session and the other in the seedlings session on a Saturday morning.
The Friday session was good, I would it is an average skatepark, that has probably seen better days. The roof was leaking significantly in multiple places even though it was not raining outside. The layout of the park is okay, which causes a bit of chaos as there are people heading in all directions with zero skatepark etiquette.
The bowl was a highlight, if you avoid the puddles.
On the Saturday, there was also a skateboard session taking places for around 20/30 under 10s, which is great to see a young generation enjoying skating. However, the coaches were spreading the session across the whole skatepark, and limiting the areas in which people not in the group could ride. Every time you thought you found an area where there wouldn’t be any issues the skate lesson would move to that area, or use large sections of the park, limiting significantly where you can ride. It might be worth having private hire or not allowing any other riders to use the park at the same time as the classes. The attitude from the skateboard coaches as poor, just expected people to move, again should the coaches teach skatepark etiquette? There was a good vibe with other people who weren’t in the class, taking turns and generally encouraging each other. The roof was still leaking on the second visit. I did see some buckets hanging from the roof to catch water but they might have holes in too!
Probably won’t return, can see why there’s a following in the area as there are limited places to skate indoors but it could be better. Really...
Read moreBeen there twice in 3 weeks, first time got charged what is advertised on the website, second time, got charged more. I was informed that the prices have increased but the website has not been updated, as it’s too hard.
If that’s true, that’s really bad management, what do you think your customers will think when they get overcharged out of the blue? If that’s not true, your staff are skimming (stealing) money from customers. Either way, the customers are not happy, eg: me.
When I asked for a manager, I was refunded the extra money as there is no till, so no record of payment and you also don’t get a receipt. The boys on the door could charge whatever they wanted and pocket the difference, nice little earner.
I know we're skaters, but you guys need to be much, much more professional.
Little tip from a web designer, create your site in Word Press and don’t .pdf a price list, then your staff can update bits when they are doing nothing in-between sessions.
Also, they have very limited tools and no tyre pump; come on guys you are a skate park, you should have a pump for god sake. The park is very good, but don’t expect any customer care or service and check what you are paying.
This review is over £2, but it's not about the money, it's about giving a s**t about your customers.
The saving grace is that the park is very well designed and (at the moment) in good condition.
Update: Went again on Sunday and the prices have not changed. Beware the thief...
Read moreGreat venue, and good for all ages (once the youngest have been through Ramprats upstairs!) I'd love to see someone invest in helping these guys replace the roof (has a few leaks and buckets hanging from the rafters!) And I'm sure they'd be more than happy promoting whoever helps them out! But honestly as Indoor skate parks go you really can't fault the place. Park includes everything you'd expect and more including some outdoor pump tracks areas too. I'd give it 5 stars if the investments could be made but that doesn't take anything away from the experience so in that respect it does get...
