My son and I visited Sacrawell Farm with a friend and her children too. The last time I visited we just arrived bought tickets and went in and we could leave whenever we decided to go home. This time however, we had to purchase tickets online, at the time of booking, my friend was unaware that there were two sessions for the day and that they closed from 12.30 until 1.00pm. We arrived just after 11 so didn't have too long to enjoy the farm before they closed.
We had to book and pay for the afternoon session online, but this is disappointing as it doubles the admission costs. Sacrewell Farm is a great place to go with children, they have expanded their play area and updated the equipment too. There are some lovely walks and animals for the children to enjoy and a few small artisan shops which are lovely, including a cheesemaker.
I took a star away due to being time limited and having to pay twice to enjoy our day out, but it's well...
Read moreGood amount of booking time to get around everywhere. The one way system was easy to follow. Lots of hand washing stations. It was great to see some small businesses using the paddock area and to see the blacksmith and wood carving being done. A small variety of animals to see and experience. The mill is always great to see every time I've visited and such a great learning experience for younger ones. The new play park is a huge hit with our little one and the amount of variety of kit for a wide range of ages is just fantastic. It really has made a huge difference. The ice creams were reasonably priced and the small gift shop area had an array of books and toys. The staff were polite and friendly. Lots of parking space and great sized spaces too. Definitely recommend coming here for all ages. Lots of peacocks about. Beautiful but beware the odd one is brave enough to try and get very close to you...
Read moreNice farm with lots of animals, but lots of walking. The farm complex is huge, so be prepared to walk a lot and whilst there are signs, we had to look for many barns and animals. The lady at the reception told us to go to the shops first. Not sure if this is suitable for very young kids. Our daughter 16 months was bored at times as there was a lot of nature and barnes in great distance. We booked 1pm slot which meant after we finished at around 4pm, the hot kitchen was already closed (only operates from 12pm-1pm) and there was not much food to choose from. We missed more interaction with animals, pet them, feed them, but maybe we expected too much. Probably the best was outdoor play area, our daughter...
