Farm, campsite, playground, cafe and heritage type. Lovely location easy to get to. Doesn't look like we enter the right place as some areas are sealed up for the campsite. But when entering the reception it takes up a whole lot of facilities. The reception has a small selection of toys especially lots of cuddle toys. There is a large cafe next to the shop which is amazingly large, clean and plenty of food selection with outdoor seating and a small children's play area. Upon entry to the main door we came across two ways. The indoor barn was nice clean and a great selection for young children to run and play. However I was disappointed that there was no mini cafe IE drink, cake biscuit while you sit at the picnic table type. When outside there is a small obstacle course, race kart and seaside type for young children and a sensory type garden with vegetables growing for preschool children to learn. The other direction, you enter into a large play area for mixture ages children which is very good to entertain children with couple of seating area. When you enter out of the play area you come across to a farm animals, heritage material, windmill and wild play area with lake. This is my only downfall I find disappointed. To me I find lack of group animals, lack of interaction animals, the bunny are in not the right location due to impairment in another location and feel there not in the right property as it is dark and cold, messy in certain places, heritage machines falling disrepair or hiding overgrown weed, lack of information, the walk is kind of misguiding. The walk in house was very disappointing and pointless to enter in, the windmill was not what I expected. They also do courses on the blacksmith Thursday to Sunday which I think is fantastic if you are into it and woodcarving course various depends when. They do party for young children and they do school education and have a large room for them to visit and learn. I would visit the cafe as it is top notch but until the farming side needs adjusting I would leave out however with play area I'm kind of stuck in between. There is a walk way den type but unfortunately it was close due to...
Read moreI can’t even begin to tell you what a magical day we’ve had today at Sacrewell. First we checked out the lovely farm where we met lots of friendly, happy animals. Everything was very hygienic and there were lots of places to wash hands. Then we went for lunch at the cafe, they had run out of ham and cheese but the lady offered to add ham to my husbands and she toasted them for us which we didn’t expect. Great deal for the kids too with 5 items for £5. Time for the main event! We walked up to see Santa and spotted stars on our way with little activities that our 5 year old son really got into. Then we made it to the beautifully decorated grotto where we didn’t wait long at all and there were lots to occupy the children including a bench to read Christmas books, music and a section where you could fill a bag full of reindeer food. Mrs Claus was super friendly and asked my son about what he was going to ask Santa for. We then went into another gorgeous decorated room and Santa was so friendly. He gave him a magic key and there was a photographer taking photographs. As we walked out we went into another room which our son unlocked with his magic key and entered him into a workshop of toys where he could pick any toy he wanted, it was fantastic! We then had the opportunity to buy the photos, the woman was not pushy in any way but we couldn’t resist the gorgeous photos they had taken. When we thought it was all over, my son had the opportunity to write Santa a thank you letter, remind him of what he wanted and his address and then post it off in the postbox. We missed the tractor ride because he got really into colouring his picture for Santa! But after a short play in the Playbarn we went back and got on the last tractor ride. All of that? £12.50 for children and £7 for adults including farm admission! I am SO glad I didn’t waste time and money waiting an hour at our local garden centre or going all the way to London to Winter Wonderland, as we have done in previous years but this is by far the most magical Santa experience we have taken our son to. Thank you so much to all of the staff at Sacrewell for keeping the magic of...
Read moreReview from a caravan user point of view having just stayed for 5 nights. On Arrival at Sacrewell turning off the A1 the drive is on an incline and there are double gates just shy of the blind crest. The one on the left is closed and has a large sign " caravans wait Here for security check" but there is no phone number or anyone to carry out said check. We decided to proceed after a few minutes and this is my biggest bug bear is that on a blind creator a hill I had to take the gate on the wrong side of the road not being able to clearly see what was coming up the hill, we arrived just after 3pm and were met with a steady stream of traffic we had to fight against. Would have been much easier and safer had the gate been open. Pitching was easy enough we were on the top triangle and it's nice and quiet and out the way, our caravan is 17feet and we tow with a long wheel base vehicle we had pitch 23 we would not have been able to position a bigger caravan on the pitch using the tow vehicle due to the position of the ehu box for the next row, if you use a motor mover you would be ok. Once pitched up we used the site as a base for exploring the local area and visited the farm park a few times our little boy really enjoyed it, the play area is amazing and my only small criticism is the toddler play area could do with being fenced so they can't run straight across to the bigger kids area and risk being hit by swings etc, many other attractions have this and it is safer. If you take more than one toddler you will need eyes in the back of your head. Other than that we couldn't fault the experience at all and will almost certainly be back...
