Have you ever stayed in a floating pod? We invited @adam.floatinghome to stay in one of our pet friendly floating pods at @tattenhallmarina just outside of Chester. If you can see yourself enjoying an idyllic break in a floating pod this winter, stay tuned because an exciting Black Friday offer is coming tomorrow! 👀 #tattenhallmarina #tattenhall #chester #cheshire #visitcheshire #visitchester #dogfriendlyuk #dogfriendlydestinations #dogfriendlyglamping #adventuresonfourpaws #lifesbetterbywater #uniquehotels #floatinghome #glamping #glampinglife #lakelandleisuremarinas #boatlife

Hired a Day Boat yesterday, had an absolutely amazing day. Never done this before. We were 2 62 yr old women. We were greeted by 2 lovely staff at 8am. We were made to feel really welcome. Had a coffee and completed the paperwork together. The Marina was lovely and the facilities were immaculate. We were taken to our boat and shown around. Everything was explained to us. We took the boat out of the marina under instruction which was really reassuring. When we were confident, the staff got off and they showed us how to tie up and explained a choice of 2 routes. ( no locks involved for day hire) We travelled the canal towards the Cheshire Cat. Was an interesting route, seeing life on the canal. Very leisurely travelling at a slow pace. Had a couple of times stuck in mud at side while we allowed other boaters to pass , but managed to sort it ! Everyone one you meet en route shouts hello which was nice. Would definitely recommend Tattenhall Marina to hire a day boat. We will certainly be going back and taking the route towards Beeston Castle.

Visited floating pods oct 23 , stopped in Osprey, it starts with your own parking spot which is great , accommodation is well laid out , modern , you dont feel you are actually floating ! Accommodation has all utensils , plates etc , towels . You have tv if you so wish , the swans & ducks are great neighbours 😀👍 Location is quiet & look after , cafe is very close , staff are excellent, marina manager (apologies forgot yr name) is very friendly & professional , food is great , had both evening & breakfast food . Walks close by & ice cream factory. Park & ride for chester is about 15mins away Would highly recommend for something a bit different

Found out about this marina from local advertising and thought it would be a safe corvid free place to visit.

Unfortunately we felt very let down.... we traveled over an hour to find the place then found it very difficult to gain entrance (we had to be let in by another person visiting who had the "secret" code number for the barrier)

We managed to find the toilets, only to find one cubicle had no toilet paper , the hand drier was not working AND there was no paper towels to wipe your hands !! and this in spite of corvid regulations.

The permanent menus were handed to us then taken back but I did not see them sanitized during our stay. There was plenty of sanitizer available for customer use by the doors although I did not see it used much!!

After requesting our table be cleaned, we ordered drinks - but had to send BOTH glasses back as they were dirty!!

A very limited menu, apart from breakfast items and jacket potatoes it was just sandwich type of food. However, we were then told as the electricity had gone off it was cold sandwiches only!! Had we not been waiting for a while by now, we would have gone somewhere else but being new to the area we didn't know where to go.

Our sandwiches were very nice though and we enjoyed them.

People serving, including the chef, were pleasant enough but I do wish they would all wear masks and wear them properly. Also ensure that the one way system was adhered to - people continually coming in the "No Entry" door instead of walking round.

We are sure this is a good place if you want to moor your boat but not really suitable for a...

So we are currently staying here as I write this review but I’ve been so impressed with our first day I just couldn’t wait to give praise to all the amazing staff here .

We arrived and was shown to our pods by Staff (Caroline ) who is so professional and really went above and beyond to make my husbands birthday weekend extra special . Her work and all the other cleaning staff on cleaning and getting the pods ready is outstanding they are immaculate and our pod was even decorated its banners and balloons for my husband it really put a personal touch to it. The pods have everything you could need or want nothing is missed and every detail is thought of. Truly special .

We was introduced to Rob who gave us our keys , was so friendly and welcoming .

We then went and had our evening meal in the onsite cafe and WOW ! Is all I can say the food is unreal , compliments to the chef Jordan I had the best fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life thank you ! My husband had the steak which he didn’t speak a word whilst eating it and with him that’s when you know it’s good ! The waiting staff Matt and Zoe where amazing so helpful always checking if we needed anything and asking if are food was ok so polite and friendly the staff here really do go above and beyond ! This is a truly special place and we will definitely be coming back thank you Tattenhall marina for a...

Family trip...2 adults and 2 kids. From the moment we arrived at this lovely Marina, we were greeted with a warm welcome from the staff. Very polite and professional. Shown around the boat and was a little addition to know they had brewing up stuff to use, as well as plates and cutlery. We had come prepared with our own as we didnt realise it had them but we know for next time its a few less things to bring. The boat was easy to drive after the first few minutes of getting used to it. We had it for the full day so took the long route to The Cheshire Cat. A lovely stretch of canal with many places to moor if needed. We took a continental breakfast onboard and stopped halfway to enjoy it in the sunshine. Had a drink at The Chesire Cat then headed back. Turning round was no problem. The only thing we found was we were told it was approx 2 hours to get back from this point. We set off back at 1.45pm but still got back at 4.20pm so was 20 mins late. But we did ring ahead to inform them and they were extremely polite and understanding. We stuck to the rules of not going fast past moored boats and had many polite boat owners waving and saying hello as we passed them. We had such a fabulous day out and will most definitely be doing this again. We only had 4 on our boat but you can have up to 10 people. 100% recommend...
