Swansea Bay has the longest single dune system in Europe, you can see it all from Kilvey, from Sker Point in the distant east to Mumbles Head, five miles to the west, with its distinctive double bump.
The city’s East docks dominate the view, then the commercial centre further west, and the other great hills that back the bay. Unlike Kilvey, they are largely covered in housing. Kilvey alone remains wild and wooded despite its proximity to the suburbs that wash up against its flanks.
