Wife and I enjoyed visiting Tyntesfield, the grounds are delightful and the house is great. We found the staff very friendly and not at all over bearing. We spent over 3 hours here and took a packed lunch. If National Trust see this review I would say that some of the signage could be better. We found out that there used to be a very grand conservatory at the back of the house where you now enter but there’s no mention of it as you approach. They could put photos up of what it used to look like, people would find this very interesting. It’s such a shame as with many houses that you cannot access the 3rd floor where we were told the children’s rooms are and I think a laundry ? It’s down to not enough paid staff or volunteers to be able to show you around we were told. Never the less the house is pretty big and there’s still loads of rooms to explore. We had a cup of tea in the large stable rooms cafe and there’s a pretty nice shop. On arriving the queue to get in was alarming but it soon went down as there were plenty of staff to scan you through (it is the main summer holidays after all). This place at the moment ranks in my top 3 NT properties for sure. I’m glad because we travelled nearly 80 miles to get there ! Lovely day though as the...

Really nice house to visit. Very grand inside. It looks like it was when the last of the family that owned the house left. Some of the rooms you can enter completely; and some you can see from over a rope barrier. It looks like there is more to explore in the house, as there seems to be some renovations and or cleaning of some areas. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and have lots of knowledge to share. The gardens are very nice, and well maintained. The kitchen garden is really nice, and they use the produce to make meals in the restaurant. The summerhouse is very nice, but there is little signage about directing you there, but out of pure luck I magaged to find it. There is even a bus service to take you around the estate. And you can hire a wheelchair or mobility scooter while you are there. Despite the many picnic areas, I saw a lack of bin facilities dotted around. So I had to take my rubbish...

Great day out with the family! We really enjoyed visiting this place. The house was beautiful with a gorgeous library. Extensive gardens to explore and several playgrounds for the kids. The cafes and restaurant were well stocked with local apple juice which was very sweet and refreshing. There was the option to call a buggy to collect you at specified benches which we did as our son is disabled and found it very tiring to go back to the entrance. The only thing I'd daddy could improve is the parking for no members of the Trust, as the paddy and display didn't accept coins and had to be done via the app which didn't work for us. We ended up paying at the door together with the entrance fee -- they should add a notice tio the machines saying that's possible to pay at the door as this would have made it easier. But other than that it was a beautiful daddy out...
