Terrible and will never go back again. Waited 30 minutes just for our drinks and even then only half of our drinks order came, resulted in 3 of us waiting a total of 45 mins for our drinks. No apology from staff all we had was 'its been busy and it was change over time when we ordered' (18.40 and wasn't busy atall) food eventually came and one child's meal was forgot and one of our sides, so my 2 year old son had to wait for his to be cooked whilst we all had most of our food. By the time the child's meal and side came out we had finshed our meals that we wanted the side with! To top off our terrible experience our children got threatened by this old couple for being loud! They were absolutely disgusting to our children resulting in my 7 year old niece crying her eyes out. The staff were very unhelpful and full of rubbish excuses. Avoid if you have children as this place is not child friendly the staff made this clear.

Lovely traditional pub. We were travelling back to Swansea after arriving at Bristol airport so wanted a place to stop for lunch. Highly recommend this pub, delicious freshly cooked food, welcoming and professional staff; and very cosy atmosphere and decor. Will be coming here again next time we travel from Bristol airport. Nice to see a pub not being taken over by the big chains

This pub is worth stopping at it has the fill of a country pub It has a good choice of beers and ciders. The menu choice is good with some specials and classic pub meals and reasonably priced Not busy in the afternoon did not have to wait long for the meal to be served Nice garden at the rear Chips nice and crispy local ham tasty and thick cut other meals coming out looked good

Ate here today. Will not be returning. Many mistakes with the food, could also see other diners sending their food back. Service shocking. Booked a table, arrive 15 minutes before booking to find out a table had not been booked for us so stupidly ended up following waitress around while looking for a table for up. Booked to have roast, to be told there was no roasts left. Waited 20 minutes for someone to take drinks order. Then the drinks never arrived. Grabbed the attention of a waitress and ordered drinks again. Was pretty much forgotten about throughout. Asked for menus (party of 3), was given 3 menus, 2 of which were drinks menus which we had already ordered so passed around the one menu we did have. Had to pick meals from menu as there was no roasts left. Ordered, took an hour to get starter. Mains came, one meal was OK, the other 2 were overcooked. Asked for condiments, waiter went to collect then came back with only one so had to ask again for the others. Eventually got round to desserts after finally being served again, ordered 3 desserts, only 2 arrived, waited 10 minutes for the 3rd the was never coming. Grab a waitress to be told they'd ran out of the 3rd dessert.. even though when our plates were being cleared we asked if all desserts were available to be told yes. One of the desserts that did arrive had to go back as it was stone cold in the middle. Again waited to try grab the attention of a waiter/waitress and gave up and went to the bar and asked for it. Server said she had to take a dessert off out bill, which was the dessert we didn't get anyway. Today was a father's day treat which was spoilt by the experience we had here.

Tables around us were also sending food back because meals were either wrong or not satisfactory.

Not sure if there's lack of training or communication but sadly it was my first visit and sadly I will...

My my my.. where to start.

I have been to this establishment many a time. I have always been happy with the food, beer and service. Until Mother’s Day.. what a shambles.

I booked a table for 8 of us, 3 weeks in advance. My family and I were delighted with the prospect of all being together for food and drinks, as man a family would be.

In we go, smiling and hopeful. The sun was shining and spirits were high. We were greeted and told it would be waiter service, so there would be no need to go to the bar for drinks. Unfortunately, the moment our happy backsides sat down, the event dwindled to a giant lump of steaming disappointment and depressive state. Please see reasons below;

  1. incredibly slow service. Booking was at 1430- no food until 1600. Service to the table was almost none existent. What did come out was either raw, overcooked or cold.

  2. After finishing 1 pint and thirsty for another. I went to the bar as we lacked any sort of service, to be told to sit back down and someone would come to me. No one did. Another one of my party did then go to the bar and got served the drinks.. I was perplexed by this.

  3. After consuming what we could due to our hunger. We expressed our upset. Instead of an apology from staff/shift manager, we were argued with and were told that we were the only people unhappy. (This was false, I witnessed 3 other parties complain amongst themselves about one thing or another).

We did receive money off the bill, after stating that we would absolutely not be paying for particular items on the bill. Otherwise, I have no doubt that we would have been charged in full.

Overal, this most recent and final experience concluded the end of what was a loving and compassionate relationship between myself and The Failand Inn.....

Fan-flipping-tastic! After being stuck in some serious traffic for far too long, we were all desperate for the toilet! The Failand Inn came into view so we decided to stop and ask if we could use their facilities. Not only are they totally on top of COVID, with full face shields, alcohol gel at the entrance and a QR code to scan to give them your details, but the Customer Service was absolutely top notch. We were greeted with friendly service and when we explained our situation and how desperate we were to use the toilet, there was absolutely no hesitation at all in saying please, go ahead. The toilets were gleaming, all of the carpets looked freshly cleaned (I looked as my Daughter was having a pj day and only had socks on). In the end we stayed for a nice cold pint of coke and a tuna sandwich for the Daughter. Really nicely presented with a lovely salad and really good dressing, together with half a plate of really nice crisps. We will definitely be back (that was my 6 year olds words). I've come away with an impression of a spotlessly clean pub, nothing seemed to be too much trouble to the staff, they were super friendly and helpful. Amazing! That's my idea of the great British pub and they need our support to stay open so, if you are in the area (Tyntesfield is just up the road), please make a beeline for this pub and relax knowing the staff have it...
