First time visiting and already booked back for next year with the rebooking discount. Best holiday, first we had as a new family. We went in May, weather was lovely, and there’s so much to do. We got the burly baby bike trailer our 1 year old daughter loved it and we both got bikes. The swimming is great and we will definitely be ordering the bbqs again when we revisit. The lakeside inn is good we just walked in without booking, meals were expensive but the food is good. There are plenty of things for kids but our daughter was a bit young for most of them, next year though she will be able to get into more of the activities. Nice play park in the village center. Lots of animals to spot we seen a deer and lots of squirrels and ducks. House was great stayed in Three Oaks near to car park thought it was a good area and not too far from everything whilst also being out the way. Great place for a family holiday can’t recommend it enough and we are looking forward to come back next year.

Been to Whinfell about 25 times since my 16 year old was 2. Love everything about the place. People say it's expensive and it is if you compare it to other holidays but if you have been you don't mind paying. Swimming pool is amazing restaurants are great lodges from bottom of range to a tree house are still all in the same forest so wherever you stay you still get same experience. And even if I had the money for a treehouse I go to center parcs to spend times outdoors the lodge is for sleeping. If your eating out alcohol is very expensive at 7.50 a pint but center parcs isn't a place where you go to have a good drink a couple with tea is enough. Then you can take your own with you along with all your food if you want to eat in. You can make it whatever you want plenty to do without spending anything swimming and parks for kids are free.

A few minutes drive from Penrith, Whinfell is designated as an Ancient Replanted Woodland. I haven't visited the holiday cottages, so I can't review that aspect of the Forest, except to say that they look a bit sad. The forest itself is still logged, but selectively, and a fair amount of biodiversity is visible. There is one boring footpath running along the perimeter. There are several signs warning against leaving this footpath. There is also a network of unofficial trails running up the hill, and I've heard if you follow these trails there are lovely views from the top.

I visited in January 2024, we stayed in meadow view 10 which had a sauna. Due to lack of cleaning from the cleaners and things not being checked and also this even happening in Center parcs we found a white powdered substance in a plastic bag. I rang security immediately to have removed and filed a complaint as I have two children one of which is severely disabled and him getting hold of it could have ended badly. I was offered £55.00 which I refused I did want half the cost of my house back as we spent near to £2000 on activities food and the house itself I would of liked just half of the cost of the house back which would of been around £300. This was refused i couldn’t see a problem as this wasn’t cleaned properly and also finding this in a family holiday village is disgusting. I was offered £135.00 and they wasn’t going to give me half the house back. I won’t be returning to whinfell center parcs the after care is disgusting. My daughter also caught a terrible bug on the last day she couldn’t stop being sick and a bad tummy. I put it down to the outside pool being very warm but filthy the floor was disgusting it should be...

The activities are nice, The lodge we stayed in was not. The holiday center itself is great for kids, I can't fault the activities for kids, there are so many. I feel there could be more for adults. On the main note, we stayed at 7 badger wood lodge and it was not worth what we paid, at 500 each for the holiday. The lodge was basic, Had no hand wash, few towels, no dish soap. No washing machine or dryer. The main complaint we have other than that is the lodge had some risky and dangerous settings, I fell onto the decking at night because there was no indication there was a drop from the double doors to the decking, I severely injured my knee and leg and had to cancel my activities. My 2 year old nephew tripped over the corner fireplace bottom. The light for the bathroom was next to my single bed, you had to squeeze through my bed and the wall and along it to switch it on which was not doable at night with two of us having to wake each other up to switch the light on when we needed to use the washroom. the layout is too risky and cramped and all 3 of us injured ourselves. It was a huge...
