This place is absolutely awesome. Please do not read one of the bad reviews as I literally cannot find a good reason for them.
Staff 10/10, food 10/10, decor and atmosphere 10/10.
Food first. My parents were literally having their first proper Indian meal, and loved it. By contrast, my girlfriend is from a Punjabi family - and also loved it. Somewhere in the middle in terms of tastes and experience - I also loved it. Spice and flavours were nice, and varied across the dishes. Had the feeling that everyone ordered a good dish.
Staff next. Linda is ace! Great craic, good knowledge of the food, the dishes and of food/hygiene standards. Another member of staff noticed my partners Tattoos and had a brief but warm conversation while handing us our drinks (it’s the little things we love!). Everyone else was very attentive and polite. We also had little to no pressure to leave once we had finished and paid our bill.
Location is great - nice decor and tables set up to allow conversation without overlapping noise. Feels classy to be there.
Lastly the numbers - we paid a reasonable ~30 quid per head for two courses and roughly couple of drinks. Cannot argue with that. Everything at Centre Parcs is dear - but I didn’t feel stung by this. Have no issues with a service charge for good service either (though it was offered that it could be removed - which is nice to see staff have confidence in their service that they can ask and we still...
Read moreFirstly we ordered a ‘ popadom sharing platter’ the mango chutney was so lumpy you couldn’t dip it to get anything out of it. After receiving this we had to wait 1 hour for our main courses, yet the restaurant wasn’t busy. After a hour the waitress began to hand a few dishes out, it was all in disorderly manner, some of received plates for our dinner some of us didn’t. We had to ask for our plates, then dishes started coming out for e.g ‘ chicken tikka and chips’ and we had to wait another 10 minutes for the ‘ rice, nan, and side dish. I began to feel frustrated, the manager was behind me so I decided to tell her that ‘ all my food is getting cold waiting for my other dishes on the plate’ she then said ‘ I can warm your chicken tikka dish back up’ and I said no because of the risk of food poisoning. I tried to eat the chicken tikka and it was all pink inside I just gave up on my whole meal and wished I never came. At the end of the family meal we got given the bill and we already let the manager know it was cold. She then decided to come up with 3 workers crowding round the table, being aggressive in her own language which I’m unsure which it was, and took one dish off the £200 bill. I was so upset, please do not come to this restaurant, I wish I would of listened to the reviews. This is not a Indian restaurant with the right people running it. The place...
Read moreVisited earlier this week and would not recommend. Suggest if you are visiting centre parcs to go to the other restaurants instead. It was a let down from start to finish. First when we went to our table my seat had curry on it. My mocktail then arrived with what I can only describe as half the garden flowers in the top of it. I then had the chicken tikka for starter. The menu described it as being cooked in a tandoori oven and it was absolutely not. It was fatty chicken thigh cutoff that had been dipped in a sauce, nothing chicken tikka about the dish. The mains weren't great either. The korma tasted like it was a sharwoods jar sauce and the naan bread was clearly frozen and reheated. Then it came to desserts. We had opted for the experience menu (3 courses for a set price) yet they failed to tell us when we first ordered that they only had 2 of the 4/5 dessert options (it was only a Tuesday so it's not like it wasn't a delivery day). So we opted for 2, very sad scoops of ice cream. The atmosphere in the restuarant wasn't great and considering there were only a handful of tables in at the time the service was incredibly slow. If you're looking for a nice meal in Centre Parcs I would suggest the Lakeside or Bella...
