An absolutely stunning destination for any getaway. We had twelve of us staying (including kids) and were extremely comfortable, never tripping over each other.
Immaculately kept indoors and outside, with subtle but beautiful decoration, every room was spacious and comfortable, light and airy. Everything was working perfectly, and it seems that every possible eventuality was thought of. While we enjoyed cooking on the AGA oven, we loved that there was also a traditional oven available for those who wanted to use it.
The kitchen in general is very well stocked with tools and utensils, and there is enough dining space for a huge number of people, whether sitting indoors or out.
There are entertainments and amenities all around - huge gardens, a climbing frame and swings for the kids, lots of games and books left around. Although we had plenty of excursions planned, we honestly could have just stayed at Willow Tree Farm for the whole time and been perfectly satisfied!
The master bedroom has a lovely en-suite, the upstairs has a huge and brilliant Jacuzzi air-bath (which was a HUGE hit with the kids!), and even a sheltered hot-tub just outside near the barbecue area.
The site does have Wi-Fi - enough to check emails and do some basic web browsing, but probably not strong enough for heavy streaming or significantly shared use. However, for being somewhere so rural, its as good as you could get really (not that you’re going to need to spend time online while at Willow Tree Farm).
The only downside to our stay was we wish we were still there, having a cup of tea, sitting on the grass, listening to the goats and chickens nearby - but all good things have to...
Read moreGreat Highland Cow Experience Great experience with majestic highland cows with my friend for my birthday. After the safety briefing we fed the adult highland cows, Holly and Ivy, carrots. Amazing how they grabbed the whole carrot as you pushed it in. Their not so baby size calves were wandering around near us allowing us to pet them. The fussy one, Noel, liked supermarket clean carrots only, he even wouldn't eat them if they were dropped then picked up and Nelly the other calf loved popping into places she wasn't supposed to be. The bare flowerbed used to be pretty apparently. Anna the lovely keeper shared her knowledge and answered all our questions. The cows were well tended, it was too hot to walk them today , they were encouraged to remain in the shade and not put under any pressure. The cream tea was beautifully layed out, lots of sandwiches, the fillings tailored to both our allergies, they even managed to get vegan cream for the scones. And of course we finished the afternoon adding to our highland cow memorabilia from the reasonably priced gift shop. We will definitely be back and plan to stay longer next...
Read moreWe have just got back from our visit here today. We have both had a fantastic time meeting all the cows and walking the little ones. All the staff were very informative about the cows and also about the farm and the exciting plans they have coming up. We were shown the other cows in the fields and also the barn which is available to hire for nights away. Which I'm already looking at for my hen party. The place is peaceful and stunning and would be amazing to stay there and get married there which I would of loved to do.
Honestly if you get chance book the cow experience and a stay here you definitely won't be disappointed.
