It used to be a great place to walk. But due to the pandemic effect of staycation and huge number of people buying dogs, it's now deteriorated that I have stopped going. Basically, it's now so absourdely gentrified that the magic of nature is lost. But if you love to do as locals "all the same things at the same time at the same place" , then you may be fine.

I love walking here, it’s beautiful and occasionally you seeing the Kites flying above you. Highly recommend wellies as it can get very wet and boggy after bad weather. Dog friendly and great for running too as there are lots of different paths you can take - just really wish the car park was bigger as, when busy, parking can be a pain!!

Very busy today, car park was full had to park on the roadside which was quite precarious. Nice walk through the forest and onto the common, walk was cut short after the boardwalk was flooded at the end. Would recommend wellie boots or half calf length water proof boots for this walk.

Probably my favourite place to walk the dogs. The parking can get congested, particularly at weekends, and the paths are uneven and can be very muddy at times. But it's a beautiful little common you can get around in a little under an hour, but can take a lot longer if you explore the extended routes. There's a pond at the far end (if you're starting off from the Salt Box Rd carpark) through the woods. This can get very low in periods of drought, and the water will be quite smelly during these times (for those dogs who like the water). Please note that, during long hot summers, the common undergrowth gets very dry and is particularly vunerable to casually discarded cigarettes etc. There have been three significant fires here in recent years, one quite recently, causing devastation to trees, vegetation and wildlife. So please, take care if you're a smoker, and...

It is a fantastic place to go for a walk. I have a dog and he just loves his walks there. However if the charges are brought in I will not be walking him there. I am retired, encouraged to walk by the medical profession and yet I have to pay for the privilege which I cannot afford twice a day. I already pay council tax so why should we pay more. Dog walkers will probably be the only people who will use the common as they can pass on the charges to their clients. The council really need to...

We call this place "dog poo common", as the paths are paved with dog poo. It's a common, pun intended, place to bring a dog for a walk, and not everyone picks up, some pick up, bag and then put in the hedge. No, I don't believe it either, but I've seen it!

We often play count the dog poo bag or count the dog egg!

This is a great place to come for a walk, there are plenty of paths, good wildlife, Dartford warbler if you are lucky, we heard a cuckoo tonight, you might see...
