This was our first ever visit, Saturday and was unfortunately met by a coach load of miserable, rude people, all of which were spitting over the floor, had some kind of gathering for a BBQ.

Whilst looking at and talking to other visitor's like they were trash. Absolutely appalling.

I was toileting my 4 children when the door was unlocked from the outside and in walked a girl about 12 wanting to use this specific toilet despite 3 others being empty.

The mother then told my eldest who's only 10 (who was assisting her 5 year old sister) to GO GET OUT which then invoked a non to polite response from me to never address my children especially in that manner ever nor open the door whilst children are using the toilet ever again and wait to your turn or use the empty toilets, she mumbled something and I simply said let's discuss this outside without children present if there's an issue and she left.

It was at this time I also noticed the gift shop had shut too, way earlier than the sign said.

So NOW about the experience, the visitors center and toilets are lovely and clean. Gift shop has great affordable infact very low prices especially if you have multiple children. It also has a great display and an educational table. It's brilliant.

Cafe was reasonably priced, again clean and everyone were super fun, friendly and very informative in regards to information about the site, it history and making understandable for children to enjoy and remember too.

The walk is fantastic, has an exercise route too with equipment to try. Plenty of wonderful carvings and wood statues which had so much skill and detail.

Information boards about the wildlife and it's types and best of all was the ZOG scan features on the trail.

It was so much fun, kept the children encouraged to walk more and to find the next one to scan. It was absolutely fantastic.

We wondered around for 4 hours in total had our picnic off the trail, then spent the last one hour in the play area.

Ample play equipment, some great big slides all which because of the weather were wet and we got absolutely muddy which adds to the fun. Great park to play in we loved it.

So much to do and we enjoyed playing with the other families too who wernt with the group BBQ'ing as they seemed to of not left the field/BBQ area at all and were still standing in the visitor center when we came back.

So overall we absolutely fell in love with this place and will be back soon, it's probably the only walk I've ever been to that all four of our children haven't said we're tired or can't walk anymore.

That in itself is worth another 50 visits haha. Plenty of parking too for everyone which is currently free for the moment the...

Do not pay and park in this car park. It is definitely not worth paying for. Go to the free car park because if you think It would be nice to do the walks and go back to the toilet and cafe after you will be mistaken as it will not be open. The opening times they present are huge lies as we got back at 2.30pm after walking 12 mile for 5 hours, cafe stating it was open till 4pm and its closed early on a hot and busy day. I have no idea how this is running as a business when it cannot even stick to the opening times presented to the public. The walks were nice but I only payed and parked in that car park instead of the free one to use the cafe and facilities afterwards which also made the walks even longer when using this carpark. Use the free one, would have been...

Amazing place for kids and family's straight away you come across a visitor center food and drinks with nic nacs there is a great place for little kids round the corner with a huge park for them to burn off steam and a bigger part for bigger kids. Past this is the nature walk and now with gruffalo activity from the national parks it's a brilliant way to get kids engaged in walking and have fun doing it. Make sure before leaving the house install the gruffalo app spotter best on a tablet we used our little one tablet and she loved it because there is an argument reality which brings the woods alive with the characters to life and it's magic to them and encourages them to move on to the next character. You can make a day of the adventure it's...

Arrived at around noon. Car park £1 for 2 hours or £3 all day so excellent rates. We went for a snack before we went for a walk. The cafe is to be recommend both in the quality and price. I had a plain burger for £4.25 which came with crisps and a bit of salad and coleslaw. There are a few different things for kids to enjoy... Playground, climbing chains, tunnels and more. There are 3 walks Red, Green and the the longest one that we did the White route which has a few marker posts missing and caused a slight use of the mobile phone GPS on maps to get back on the route again. There was a cycle route as well... Blue. So OK for walking, running, cycling and just walking around with the kids. All in all I think it's a good place to visit. ,

From a car park just off the main road, the visitor centre offers cafe food and toilet facilities. A "Superworm" (previously Gruffalo) woodland trail leads up the hill and has some nice infotainment type stuff for young children. There's also a picnic area and quite an extensive and engaging playground area for kids - a cool variety of stuff for older and younger ones. We also discovered three marked walking trails - we followed the green arrows for a lovely 45 minute walk. Quite steep uphill to starts, but easy enough to cope with. The website says the red arrows should take an hour and a half; the white arrows closer to two and a half. Definitely worth a visit and a good morning's activity for young families.
