Helpful staff in this good little, dog friendly café. Sells ice creams, breakfasts, sandwiches, baked potatoes, cakes, toasties and wraps. Has outdoor seating area too, overlooked by a parliament of carved wooden owls. There is also a picnic area just opposite. The café is close to the car park, so suits for beginning or end of walking, which is good, varied terrain with good views and plenty to occupy kids.

Sadly, we arrived just before 3 pm, and despite checking the cafe was open and paying the parking, it was not a great experience. We were told there was no food available, just cake and drinks. Luckily, there was soy milk as my daughter is vegan but no vegan cakes. We sat down and one of the staff began mopping the floor around us with strong bleach , which made the coffee taste awful, we were reminded the cafe would be closing in 10 minutes despite it only being 3.35pm. The electric shutters were then lowered. As we got up to leave and were taking my granddaughter out of her highchair, my daughter was asked to move the chair she had just risen from. In 20 years of working in hospitality, these two staff could have cleared a pub during covid curfew, and that's saying something. One staff member drove off before we had even left the car park at 350 pm. My advice is to keep driving and go somewhere you are welcomed and your money over the...

Appalling service... avoid at all costs. I will never return, worst customer service I have ever experienced. No sugar provided on outside tables, no with coffee, I requested some politely and a server told me to get it myself from the back of the cafe, extremely abruptly..this was not practical as I had a 2 year old toddler already sat down eating in the outside area and I couldn't leave him unattended..thankfully, another customer kindly offered to get me some. Perhaps leave sugar on tables or put on side as you serve coffee , this would be much easier for those alone with young children, and perhaps be more polite if people...

Had a bacon and sausage butte and a coffee. Coffee was ok however the sausages were black and rock solid, not only that but the serving size was very small and ridiculously overpriced. Workers were exceedingly grumpy and straight up rude. Service was slow, will not be coming again. However, the walks around are nice. They said they were shutting at 4, even had a sign saying that they serve only takeaway after 4. My daughter tried to order a hot chocolate to takeaway at 10 to 4, didn’t make it for her and were straight up rude. As a result of this, If i do come to the forest here again I will not be visiting this cafe. DO...
