The park is great, however we turned up at 3pm and had to pay nearly £100 to walk around essentially a park. My review is fair and accurate, unbiased and for the benefit of parents and family's who wants value for money. If money is no option, this place is worth it. However the treatment by the staff (except the old gent train driver, a pleasure chatting sir!) and the unnecessary cost, and extra cost not explained.
We were NOT informed that the special parts of the park that the grandson wanted to play on were at an additional charge to the ticket fee. Seriously? What is that about?
There were 3 adults and a 4 yr old. The 4yr old (under 1m) was the same price as the adults. (Regarding your response, yes some places do charge the same for each person no matter the age. But the good sites are generally much much cheaper overall, and don't charge 2nd fees to do things)
We were informed that there was only 1hr 30ish left of open time. We didn't get to see any animals as they were not within the area we could explore with a 4 yr old in the time we had, especially as he did love the climbing frames. We didn't know the way around, the signs weren't very helpful, however the map was great. The climbing frames are very good. Grandson loved them, which is why we paid to enter.
However they really should offer reduced cost for half days especially if they are charging the kids the same as adults (as you have stated in the reply the site is for 8 and under. So why £22ish for adults? Who will be spending money in your shop and food/drinks), The park would be bursting with people if you charged the adults less.
With regards to the reply stating the prices are fair and comparative. To what? As far as I'm concerned we can walk in nature and parks for free? And there are countless places to go? As for Dinosaur parks and climbing frames which are not £100 for a family? I've.compared your park to 2 or 3 parks in the first search on google. Parks in which we have already visited such as Gulliver world Dino and farm, and roarsome, both are between £30 & £50 for a family of 3 adults and 1 child of 4yrs (under 1m). So you are misguided/incorrect.
Would we return? No, as the rip off that it was, and due to the service of the staff, and £90 something pounds is £40-£60 overpriced and far too much for a glorified park for an hour and a half (or for a full day!)
I thank you for your reply, however I think you need to review your prices. The park is clean, is nice but will not be returning nor recommend this park to anyone who wants value for money. Plenty of other parks and nature sites where more fun can be had at much less...
Read moreI was in the area for business travel and decided to drop by to check out this park because my kids love dinosaurs and I seen they had a dinosaur area. I was not disappointed at all with the entire park.
To enter the park you have to pay a fee.... It was about $25 US which is normal for most amusemant park like this one. They had great play structures/parks within the park that included wooden jungle gyms, metal slides and swings. Kids would have a blast climbing and running around!
There is also this giant inflated balloon that kids can climb on and bounce on that is surrounded by sand in case a little one falls off. It stands about 5ft off the ground and the kids I seen were having a blast jumping and rolling off of it.
There is a giant wooden ship which was pretty cool too. There is also a little feeding anima farm! In the middle of the park is a large lake. Lots of birds and I guess you can also fish there too. Seen a guy fishing for carp. Unsure if it's good fishing though buy hey, give it a try. There is a dirt path around that lake which brings you to the other side of the park where they have more play structures and the dinosaur exhibit area.
There are approximately 20 fake dinosaurs along with a little informational piece about each one. If you have little ones, they could easily be scared because they have their teeth showing and don't don't look friendly but hey, that's a dinosaur for ya. They have sounds playing as you walk through to add to the experience which was cool. Definitely would take my kids.
As you make your way around there is a splash pad for those hot days when the kids want to play in water along with another play park and slides next to it.
There are also some hiking trails within the park as you first enter that I didn't get a chance to do but they say allow for an hour depending on which trail you decide to do.
Cool park with cafes, sweet treats, and of course souvenirs to take...
Read moreThis is a great day out but I feel it is too expensive. I resented paying extra for train rides, go cart rides, and other activities. For almost £25 per person I expected more.
I have a disabled child and I felt a bit harassed providing proof and then was still overcharged as the carer ticket was still charged for. When I asked about a carers ticket initially the person on the ticket desk said they didn’t exist. Luckily, I had checked the website so was able to clarify this. When you have a disabled child, who hates you talking about their disability, it feels uncomfortable to have to explain and prove their disability. Annoyingly, when she came in her wheelchair on a previous visit, we didn’t need to provide proof. As a parent of a child who is a part time wheelchair user, this discrimination is frustrating. Disabilities are not always visible and even when my daughter is mobile she is still disabled and requires 1.1 adult care. I feel a little more care and kindness around this would be more customer focussed.
Having said this, we did have a great day. The splash park was small but the kids enjoyed it for almost an hour. We loved the sensory room which my daughter used when she felt overwhelmed- the signage on this meant other people are able to use it but priority is given to autistic individuals who need a quiet place to retreat to. This space...
