Cliffhanger Escape Rooms — Attraction in Haverthwaite

What a fantastic escape rooms! We've been to quite a few but were impressed with everything at Cliffhanger, from the staff to the prices to the quality of the rooms and riddles themselves.

We booked in advance, which I would recommend, and were greeted by helpful and cheerful staff. We loved the digital leaderboards that were in the waiting area, which added a real competitive atmosphere.

We took on the pirate-themed room and, without spoilers, can say it was brilliantly laid out, intuitive, quirky, and certainly had more to it than guessing the codes to some padlocks! We only used one clue and got out with 15 mins to spare (we were a group of four experienced players), but were totally pleased with the experience. The theming, vast range of types of puzzles and build quality of the room was stellar.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 man effort through the Pharaoh's curse room. It caught us out often enough to fail by maybe 5 minutes. Clues come in on the screen whenever you press the buzzer, you get 3 clues before it counts against you on the monthly leader board. After that you'll automatically get extra clues if you seem to take a while on any particular stage. Our staff member was absolutely lovely.

I would say this is created on more of a budget than a previous one I've done in London, but was still mind bendingly brill and hope to do another of their 3 rooms in the future. Average success rate is between 50 and 60%.

The lobby area is tiny with just seats and toilets, if you need anything to eat or drink first, pop into the ambio cafe nearby

We had a brilliant time today in the pirate-themed escape room. The games master (Oliver?) was really helpful as one of our party was new to escape rooms.

We were a mixed family group from age 11 to 60 and finished by the optimistic skin-of-our-teeth with clues 😅

It was a great range of puzzles / challenges compared to others we've done before, and the room / props were great.
