We visited the Lakeland Motor Museum on our way home from a holiday in Ravenglass. Before we left the museum grounds we headed into Cafe Ambio and we were so glad we did! The service was friendly and the cafe was warm and welcoming. There is plenty of seating available and accessible toilets. The view where we were sitting was beautiful and very peaceful. I had the soup of the day which was vegetable, it came with a thick slice of soft white bread and two butter packs. It was £7.50. The soup was absolutely delicious and just what I needed on a cold November day. My partner had the smoked salmon open sandwich which we shared because it was SO good. The best smoked salmon, tartar cream cheese and salad I have ever eaten. It was well worth the £12.50 we paid. We took a couple of slices of cake to go and ate them when we got home, they were delicious too. I highly recommend you plan a spot of lunch when you go to the Lakeland...

Myself and partner came here as we was hungry and was visiting the motor museum next door. First impression was that it was nice, went to enquire about getting a milkshake. Told me that we can make a milkshake from any of the ice creams in the freezer by the door. Was surprised as not many people do this. Ordered my milkshake and partner ordered his drink we ordered our food we thought it was expensive and was hoping was made to order and is proper decent food. We was certainly impressed! partner had a hot dog and I had the double patty burger. Can tell it was made from local meat. The burgers was nice and juicy and partners hot dog sausage was huge and so flavourful! It was superb ! If your debating whether to come here, just go!...

An excellent cafe in a brilliant setting. If it's a nice day I recommend sitting outside and watching and listen to the water flowing down the river. If you have a day with nothing to do and nowhere to go, just standing on the bridge contemplating the lovely surroundings whilst the water marches relentlessly onward is a rare delight. Inside the cafe the staff are all very friendly including with out excitable Springer Spaniel Max who got lots of attention :) The food and service was top notch, after visiting a nearby restaurant a few days before and having a bad experience this was the polar opposite. Everyone loved the food and we left stuffed and very happy, the triple fried chips I...

Good quality food, prices are what I’d expect to pay for where it is situated. Can get busy at lunchtime or when a coach load arrives. Have had breakfast and lunch here a couple of times and really enjoyed it. A bit of a wait for food but nothing too long. Nice staff and the food is of a really good quality. Sit inside or outside next to the river. Well worth calling in if you’re passing for a cake and coffees or a larger meal.

I love this cafe, its half way round one of my favourite walks and next to a beautiful river that gets very dramatic in heavy rain. And of hours thd Motor Museum is an added bonus. There's also an escape room just down the road. The cafe serves delicious snacks and cakes. My only negative (though ifmt doesn't take away stars) is that there's often no gluten free cakes left by mid afternoon.
