My first ever Google review as I simply feel the need to here. We have two stars as the beach is beautiful, like many other Cornwall beaches. However.... get your hiking boots on kids. We parked initially near Hayle Beach as we couldn't find anywhere else. The lifeguard advised the dog friendly beach was 'just the other side of the cliff, 5 minute walk if you follow the path'. The path was about 20cm wide and up and down over rocks, bushes, well... over a cliff. We arrived 30 minutes later and was greeted by what can only be described as a ski slope of sand. Great going down (albeit awkward with kids and puppy in tow), impossible to get back up unless your some kind of professional athlete (I'm mid 30s and fairly active). I made the mistake going back to the car and trying to find somewhere closer. Well after an hour I stumbled on Sandy Beaches car park which presented me an even longer walk to where my family was and slope which felt like Mount Everest. Back up with thr family took an eternity and I scraped out of the car park with minutes to spare on my 2 hour stay despite turning straight back after rejoining my family. There were no facilities I could see including basics of toilets near by, let alone somewhere to get water or wash off your feet. Alot of beautiful places are worth the effort to get to, this one...
Read moreA stunning beach & dog friendly, we parked at the Sandy acres car park above it and the parking charges were reasonable. You can pay if you wish by the app - I think it was Just Park, the car park is barrier’s so just pull your car right up to it to lift (once you paid obviously lol). It’s quite a steep decent down the dune to the beach but oh wow what a beach !! Life guards present. Plenty of room and not at all overcrowded. I am unsure however how they distinguish this beach from the two either side that I know do not allow dogs (well during peak periods and at certain times during the day) It’s such a huge beach that I don’t know how you’d know if you were encroaching the...
