Liked: have been so excited to write this review and give the campsite and staff the incredible praise it and they deserve!

My wife and I arrived on Friday morning after travelling down from Manchester. We had originally booked a two night stay as we were attending the Coldplay concert on Friday. Upon arrival, staff were super polite, friendly and smiley! We pitched our tent and made ourselves comfortable. We then headed to the concert, had a fabulous evening and returned to the site afterwards and headed to bed.

On Saturday we decided a chilled day was in order, so we headed to the cafe on site for some breakfast. Delicious food, friendly staff and a beautiful outdoor seating area. In the afternoon, we headed off site to “The Lost Jungle” which was a really cool outdoor crazy golf course. It was about a ten minute drive away from the site and really reasonably priced. We sat outside our tent on Saturday evening and watched families play football, rounders and relax by their campfires. The atmosphere on the site was lovely, and although it was quite busy, everyone was very respectful and most people headed inside for 10pm.

On Sunday when we woke up, we were not ready to leave! We spoke to a staff member and luckily, they were able to squeeze us in for another night! We were so grateful as it was bank holiday Sunday and the site was still quite busy. We purchased firewood and made a fire and once again, spent a lovely evening relaxing and cooking.

We had beautiful views of the sunset and sunrise each evening and morning. The surrounding walks are beautiful and there is so much to do around the park.

As two thirty something year olds, we didn’t feel out of place playing football, bat and ball and badminton every evening! Every person we spoke to was friendly and welcoming.

Do not be put off by the portloo toilets - the staff are fantastic and were at the toilets every hour replenishing toilet paper and cleaning up. The showers were hot and powerful and more than fine for a few nights stay.

We are seasoned campers and have been to so many different places and sites, but this one really was something special. The atmosphere every single day was so lovely and we got very lucky with the bank holiday sunshine! We would recommend this site to anyone! Perfect for couples, families and even larger groups. We will one million percent be...

Liked: The open camping field has a beautiful meadow next to it and is surrounded by hedges. Camping mid-week it was quiet (6 or so others, but lots of space) with the occasional wild bunny appearance.

Definitely get the farm and adventure playground add-on for your stay (you need an adult one too and have to accompany them). It means you can go anytime and the farm is just amazing - lots to see, accessible, SEN-friendly. The playground is good too, though more for under 10s.

You can have an open fire on the ground, though do need to purchase the right to a fire and wood from the campsite (the initial package includes kindling and fire-starter). They come round a few times a day to make sure you have what you need.

Disliked: The camping is pretty basic for the price and if you want to camp under a tree, you may need to pay a premium. The four washing up stations are cold-water only and don't have any shade. We were lucky, but on a full summer day it would be baking.

The toilets are port-a-potties with pump-action flush and no lights at night. There are showers but both these and the toilets aren't on a level base, so don't quite work as expected. There are though nicer toilets nearer the farm, but it's too much of a trek for regular visits.

They are open that on a weekday there isn't anyone on the farm at nights should there be an issue - and that also means not nearby. Though to their credit they will make every effort to resolve an issue to everyone's...

Liked: Fantastic countryside location within a country park.easy access to central London, station 15 mins drive ,park all day for £4 after 10 am, zone 6.Excellent value for money ,plenty of room, you can pitch where ever you like outside of flagged areas, not croweded at all.Good washing facilities and drinking water available .Hot showers available free and plenty of Portaloos. They are kept very clean .There are two fields one gently sloping the other more level and with lots of trees.Within the park there is a lovely large lake to walk ,cycle or fish ,but far enough away so not as to be a worry to young families. There is also 100 akre wood for Winnie the Pooh fans.A large adventure playground and an animal petting zoo ,extra charge. Also a small cafe for coffee etc.It is within a countrypark which has a secure barrier and you are given a code so you can come an go as you please.Felt very secure and left our bikes outside the tent all day and they were fine.Nice for nature lovers lots of wild birds and rabbits.Idyllic for children ,lots of room to run free safely, theres a nice rope swing at the bottom field. You can have a campfire at extra charge ,firewood etc provided at charge. The local town is within easy reach plenty of shops, cafes etc everything you need.we arrived late and recieved a text with full instructions and access code etc, very efficient.Would stay again and recommend to...

We visited the Country Park on 11th November 2020 for my husband's birthday. On arrival, there was plenty of parking space. Parking costs a flat fee of £4.50 for the day and this money is used to fund the upkeep of the land and facilities. We did not have coins so purchased a parking token from the small farm shop, which sold snacks and fresh eggs. The farm was sadly closed due to the second lockdown, but we saw some cows, sheep, turkeys, and ponies from a distance. There were facilities to wash hands between the farm shop and the kiosk, which sells hot and cold drinks. We did not have time to visit the 100 Aker Woods as we began with the walk around the reservoir and by the time we had completed this the weather was beginning to turn and we didn't want to be in the rain with a small baby. The walk around the reservoir was very pleasant. It was extremely peaceful and the autumn leaves made it very scenic. It was extremely muddy in places so wellies would be a wise choice! We enjoyed spotting all the mushrooms in the undergrowth, and watching the ducks on the water. We spied a wild rabbit and some parakeets too. Although some may baulk at the £4.50 parking fee it is worth considering that many coffee places charge nearly as much for a single drink. I'd much rather have an hour of nature for my fiver! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will return with our little one when the farm is open.

A great day out for the family. Parking £4.50 all day, plenty of space for it too. Farm £6.95 per person with feed for 3 for £5. Adventure playground £3. All avaliable to purchase online beforehand. Brand new toilets, very clean and very well maintained. Staff around the vicinity are courteous and friendly. Food from rustic rhubarb is delicious and priced ££. Has a variety of food on menu, refreshments, snacks and delicious sweet treats. Beautiful and cottage like. Outdoor area is fabulous! Very festival vibes. Adventure playground is across from this. Adventure playground- you can pay in advance or by card at the gate. SEN friendly. Has a sandpit, little noise stations, plenty to climb and swing on, secret tunnel and ornaments - 2+ Winnie the pooh trail - a wonderful bit of nostalgia. It was great finding the little homes and all the little stories to accompany it - took around a hour maybe a bit more. Very well pathed and routed. There is a beautiful vast lake. The farm has tractor rides, some animals are free roaming on fields protected by fences. There is a community project, we bought strawberries and plants from but you can buy eggs etc. There are trampolines, go karts, golf for a extra fee. Extra private areas to hire. Camping or glamping for extra. Plenty of space. Plenty of picnic spaces and tables etc. Will certainly return. Beautiful place in Hertfordshire. 100/100

This review is about camp site. You better check the weather before you go there. We booked our places beforehand for King's Charle's coronation bank holiday weekend. Unfortunately it rained all Saturday. I'm not surprised with British weather BUT I'm very surprised with site preparation for rain. To get to tents you have to drive through grass field which is fine on sunny, dry day. I'm so Disappointed. On Friday eve crew was driving around with an old Toyota Hillux helping people carry their bags. On Saturday it was raining all day. That grass field became military muddy survival place. It was hard to walk through without getting shoes wet/full of mud. So many cars got stuck in muddy tracks. Nobody could leave site whole day. We asked gatehouse if there is a tractor, 4x4 to help pull us out, or at least rubber/plastic/aluminium trackway - none. They left about 4pieces of trackway near way out and that's it. Nobody could see Toyota Hillux anywhere. Luckily people got together and started to help eachother. We helped to push out about 4 cars , than one of camping guests had Toyota Hillux ( his private one ) and he helped to tow away 2 vans and few other cars. If not good will of other guests I would stay stuck there till today. So disappointed Again on dry sunny day it's a bless but on rainy day owners don't care.... Sorry one star
