Although not as big as some of the other theme parks in the area, it is of a reasonable size & what was there kept the kids entertained. There's only one roller coaster, which was fun, but would have been nice to have seen some more up to date rides. Good length of time on rides & staff didn't wait for rides to fill up with people before starting it, so not waiting around too much. Some popular rides had a wait, but not for long. Lovely play park area with up to date equipment. Inside soft play area really good too & the kids enjoyed that. Plenty of outside space for picnics & kids to run around. Considering the theme is Alice in wonderland, there were no staff dressed up as the characters other than Alice. Don't know if that was just down to the time of year we went (late Sept), but it would have been nice to see more characters walking around the park. The biggest downfall was the restaurant. It's just way too small to cope for the amount of people wanting to eat at lunch time. There was no seating available when we went for lunch at 12.30pm. The wait time for hot food was 40 mins & a lot of the cold snacks had already gone. Not good when you've got children who want to eat. They need more staff in the kitchen & more of a selection of food that doesn't run out. The smaller cafe was just as bad. 3 choices of hot food & again a wait of 20 mins whilst they cooked sausage & chips. No hot drinks as the machines were broken. Just felt as though it was poorly managed with staff who didn't really know what they were doing, or on their own so having to do everything. The whole park is outraged in as much as it could do with a lick of paint & sprucing up to make it more attractive & vibrant for children. We went on a discount day & were glad we only paid what we did to get in. We felt for what was there, the overall look of the place & the service did justify paying the normal full entrance price. The children enjoyed themselves & that's the main thing, but we won't rush back & if we do, it'll be on another...
Read moreVisited adventure wonderland today with my wife, 3 year old and 9 month old. For the £22.75 they are charging to enter. For me my wife and 3 year old (the baby was free) 50p more each than Crealy in Devon and roughly £13 cheaper than Chessington, Thorpe park ect. I feel this is far too much to be charging. We arrived and went straight to the mine train roller coaster and elephant merry go round but after no more than 2hrs we exhausted the park. Riding all rides including the log flume, kids go karts, tea cups and many others. We sat down to have lunch after watching a tik tick show (which I questioned, was expecting a Alice in Wonderland story but was greeted with a show about social media! Not really suitable for my children) So after 2hrs we heading into the soft play which my kids enjoyed but I didn't pay £66 to play on soft play. I feel the rides feel no more than a traveling fair or something you might find at a seaside fair. Most need a bit of paint, TLC. When paying £13 less than Chessington world of adventures I expected more. The grounds need a good tidy including weeding, lots of weeds and clearly no care being make here. This included all around the rides and flower beds. The bin at the pony corner was over flowing at 10.30am with rubbish on the floor and was exactly the same at 1.30pm
We went pony riding for £4 which was great but my 3 year old must of been on the pony for no more than 3 minutes, so £4 again I feel is pretty steep! We went to wash our hands after pony riding but all the soap dispensers were out of soap. Onto the positives! The staff we spoke to were all lovely, polite, and nice to speak to. On site cafe seemed reasonable priced, with a bowl of chips costing £2.95. a panini £4.95. The car park is free and plenty of parking available, we went on a Saturday. Also the park was so quiet meaning no queues on the rides.
We wouldn't return for a long while and hope investment is make. I know it's hard with COVID and now the cost of living ect but the park...
Read moreI’d heard horror stories about this place but seeing as I had a screaming toddler on my hands and some Tesco vouchers to spend, decided to give it a go.
Whilst not horrible, this place definitely isn’t a wonderland. The ‘Wonderland’ element is a vague reference to Alice in Wonderland, who pops up from time to time in different areas in the ‘park’.
It’s right next to Bournemouth Airport and opposite an ‘aviation museum’ which looked more like a ‘transportation graveyard’.
It’s not a wonderland… it’s a run down fairground with a half-decent soft play facility plonked in the middle of it. I’m sure this family-run business is trying its best but the fact is that it looks so forlorn and run-down that it’s difficult to get excited about. Ignored for 5 minutes at the entrance as staff were dealing with some confusion over a birthday party, we finally got in and we’re issued with wristbands (in case we ‘jumped over the fence’ - I’d sooner be jumping on the other direction).
The rides are basic. There may be a dozen (?) but nothing you wouldn’t find popping up in a field outside your town as part of a travelling fairground. Age range is limited - if your kids are under 4 or over 10 then there’s nothing really here for you.
Food options are limited (and expensive - £5.10 for a cookie and a slush puppy) so bring your own if you can smuggle it in. The best bit was the vast indoor soft play, but even that looked tired and in some places really filthy, despite cleaning twice a day.
We were allowed on the rickety runaway train ride but not on a (very dirty) bouncy castle/trampoline area. The helter skelter was unmanned (although anyone that could move a plank of wood could get on it) and the large outdoor play park was quite overgrown with nettles.
Prices are crazy for what this is BUT considering the rides on Brighton seafront are £3 per person per ride, you may actually get more out...
