The purpose of the visit was to propose to my girlfriend and view the property for our 2019 Wedding. The stay up until the last day was a special one. Unfortunately on our last day it soured our entire experience. I would like to bring to your attention my grievances.
We ordered room service at 8am. At 8.45am I called to check up on our order (orange juice, coffee, toast) and was told they were very busy. I asked how long it would be as we had a flight to catch and was told she didn't know but would call back. After 5 minutes I received a call to let me know it would be a further 30 minutes. This is clearly an unacceptable time to wait for toast and coffee..
Bell Service. After delaying our departure for the room service which we cancelled we cut our loses and decided to leave post haste. Bell service did not arrive for at least 30 minutes at which point I already took it upon myself to take my own bags down - I was met in the corridor by the gentleman.
Final straw. Having left later than we would have liked we started our drive to Heathrow. After a few minutes on the M1 we realized the the boot of our car had not been shut properly and had opened. We lost a piece of luggage belonging to my fiancee. The bellman had packed the luggage incorrectly and the boot had not locked. There were various Christmas presents, personal belongings, and clothing contained, some of which are irreplaceable.
I proposed to my fiancee at Luton Hoo and wanted the stay to be a memorable one. It was that but for wrong reasons. There are certain expectations that come with a 5 star hotel and these were not met. I am not an individual that complains unduly, and clearly this is unacceptable.
The way they went on to handle my grievances.. they got back to me after a month and several emails pretty much saying they were sorry but no offer to do anything.
Beautiful property, but relies on this to make the terrible service and poorly trained...
Read moreMy daughter (almost 3years old) and i visited Luton Hoo for a leaf farm event & to my surprise the views were so goregous. It really is a lovely day to spend with kids and nature. It grows its own vegetables and the plants. On this particular occassion it had a tractor ride and all the different tractors on display for the public to take pictures of. They catered for the kids with colouring, gardening and bouncy castle. In all was a great day for the kids to enjoy and had a few hot and cold food for the public. On a Wednesday it offers the place for £5 which is worth seeing. It also advertised that it has a coffee shop near by...definitely worth a visit if you...
Read moreMy husband and I had one of the most amazing experiences in our hotel past! We decided to stay at the Hoo Estate after a family friend’s wedding. The place itself is magnificent, from the outside to the inside) and the staff were courteous and welcoming. The swimming pool and spa facilities were just beautiful and we wished we were staying more than just one night! And then there was the breakfast in the beautiful restaurant, looking out to the lovely landscape! It was just serene and divine, I particularly loved how secluded and quiet the place was - we were able to disconnect from the buzz of our lives for a moment! I would highly...
