My friend and I recently had lunch at the Woodyard cafe, Luton Hoo. There is free parking outside the cafe. There is only one small step into the cafe, providing easy access for the disabled. The cafe and toilets are situated on the ground floor. The cafe offers a varied menu and table service. We both chose the steak and mushroom pie, which was served with mash potato and seasonal vegetables. It was absolutely delicious. For dessert, I chose the apple and cinnamon crumble, and my friend opted for the bread and butter pudding. Both were served with custard. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I would definitely recommend.

What a gem of a place!!! We went purely by accident, as our originally chosen cafe was closed, but omg, how glad am I that we found this amazing cafe!! The lady that runs it, is just lovely and made sure we were comfortable, we couldn't fault the food - delicious, but best of all - Christmas atmosphere!! You feel transported to a little wonderland. I absolutely loved it and had an amazing time catching up with my friend in this lovely little cafe.

The staff who served me are lovely. However £4.50 for this roll is daylight robbery!! I would go back but because of all the security due to filming I couldn’t be bothered to. No salad or butter!! Gee come on I could do better and I am not a trained chef!! Simply not bothered about serving quality food! Definitely won’t be going back!!

Booked afternoon tea for 3. On the day a friend was unwell so could not attend. We called and emailed to make them aware several hrs before but they said they did not receive this info. We offered to pay for any fresh elements that had been baked and were slightly surprised to be charged a full place including drinks which were obviously not consumed. I believe half price would have been a reasonable compromise but there was no consideration for this with the lady simply saying we were too late and would have to pay full price. We ordered afternoon tea one of which was a vegetarian option. We were a little annoyed when food arrived for us with all options on one plate ham sandwiches touching cheese etc. when we mentioned it the lady then cleared things up by pointing out which sandwiches were the non meat options , this did not really help with my friend being vegetarian and it seemed to be lost on the staff why it was not appropriate to have both touching together on one plate . I also thought it odd that when telling us the sandwich fillings the lady touched each sandwich with her finger to say which was which. The staff were polite and helpful but the finer details were lacking and I don’t think we...

New owner seems far more interested in making money than encouraging repeat business. There’s no prices on display for the cakes and they tried to charge £6.95 for a piece of banana cake because it’s homemade… that is absolutely ridiculous, there’s plenty of cafes with homemade cake that don’t charge that much. Our drinks took so long to come that my Mum went to check on them, meanwhile someone brought them over. 10 mins later a waitress appeared with another 2 drinks as no one told her we’d now had ours. She said we may as well have them anyway (who else was going to drink them?!) and yet when we left the owner tried to make us pay for them and after a lot of discussion and her checking with the waitress she said oh don’t worry I’ve checked and it’s okay. I only hope the lovely waitress didn’t get into trouble. People aren’t going to want to return if this is the service received, so not sure how long it will last under this management.

Also there was no nappy bin in the baby changing so had to try and stuff the nappy in the...

Extremely tasty Fench cuisine, thoughtfully presented with some French flair. On the evidence of just one visit, the seafood main courses suggest a culinary influence originating somewhere on the west coast of France - perhaps in the La Rochelle area? That's just a guess. The food was well-presented and delicious. The only downside was that the meal took a little while to cook - but the wait was well worthwhile once the food arrived. The desserts - again offering a western France influence (even the brioche-based bread and butter pudding)- were superb. The coffee - made rather noisily, it must be said, was a perfect way to round off the meal. This visit was a gastronomic delight. Hopefully, it will not be very long...
