This place has not really been a nature trails for some years, no wardens of course all long gone. The area is pleasant though and is used by lots of people inc dog walkers youngsters and climbers. However very often a few Ferral youths spoil it for others. There can be smashed glass and rubbish on many occasions and the few uproot rails and throw items below. So dangerous. Regular walkers and certainly climbers pick up this detritus regularly. Support is needed...

Local beauty spot with public footpaths through over 1000 acres of open farmland and woodland, visitor centre and cafe on top of the hill and also an astronomical observatory. From the top of the you can see most of Widnes, the Mersey, John Lennon airport, the Jubilee and Mersey gateway bridges and a great deal more!. Inside the quarry itself is popular with dog walkers and rock climbers who practice on the 30 ft...

It's a great place to take your dog if you stay up in the top half of the park. Love taking the dog for a walk here although it is a fairly popular spot. Never very busy but you do see other walkers and not a large space. I always take my GSD down to the Quarry as on 1 exit so I can see if anyone is coming in but I've only ever seen someone else in there once. Good place for me to let her off the lead and throw a ball around.

Fabulous and beautiful. A bit more information on the history of the quarry would be brilliant as a suggestion. The rubbish from visiters was a let down unfortunately. Kids loved the wildlife and spotting the different trees and birds not a place to go to if you are unsteady on your feet..
