Warton Old Rectory — Attraction in Lancaster

If you ignore the fact that someone's back garden fence incorporates part of the ruin, this beautiful ruin is actually really nice. The grounds are very well kept and the Old Rectory is a charming place to visit. Don't expect to spend a lot of time here though, as it's not very big. I would recommend making your visit an all day event by going for a wander around the Warton Crag Nature Reserve just up the hill and having lunch at the George...

A little disappointed; no toilet facilities or directions to public toilets. Although the grounds were well kept and interesting, there was little to explore and not much information about the site. Very small and not much detail given about it. Could be better if they out signs up on what things were. There is a sign just as you go in that explains the layout but it can be obscured by the hedges so look out for it. That gives some information but not much. Very mossy so watch out under foot.
