DAY 1 #CuckmereHeaven it is
Tranquil, serene riverfront beach & grasslands featuring scenic views of surrounding cliffs. Picturesque geographical place which is tucked away from Brighton When the weather is exemplary there is no better place to be than the British country side So choose to explore Cuckmere Valley this weekend. A walk by the Country side and roads or small cliffs nearby is good for your body, heart and soul.
Takes about 3- 4 hours to explore the entire place.
Things to do:
Get down at Cuckmere Inn – and then head back towards the nearby Cliff and we shall notice the sheep grazing in the fields. And river passing by boy it is a feast to one’s eye. Wide shingle beach with dramatic cliffs as it's the coast it does get nippy and rather windy.
Places to eat Cuckmere Inn – a laid back Irish pub with loads of open space and delectable food.
If you love trekking then this one for sure is your cup of tea.
Let me warn you it takes a minimum of 4 hours each day to explore the places and yet we sit back and say ahh there is yet so much to do and traverse.
So be prepared fill your water bottles pack your trekking gear and explore this...
Read moreAround 45mins by Brighton & Hove busses from Brighton train station or seaside. Getting down at seven sisters country park stop. Unfortunately there was nothing open at the visitors center for enquiry. We two friends then decided to move on from the other side of the road towards the walkway. There are basically two walks - park and beach walk and we opted for the beach walk. The. Intention was to see the lifts from the sea side. Around two kms form the bus stop, comes the pebble beach all across. The left is the seven sisters cliff. The white peaks and green overhead is very scenetic. We intended to walk from here to bichy head along the coast. Although the bus maps showed walking tracks, but there were no signs or walkways. Getting dark during the winter we turned back with no heads further. The other part of the walk is over wetlands, although path is paved along, but can get messy if it rains. Overall it's a weekend walk along the pebble and good view...

Flanked by the pretty Coast Guards Cottages on one side and the mighty Severn Sisters Cliffs on the other - this is a stunning, scenic stop gap if you've started at Seaford.
Be mindful of the tide and times where the Cuckmere River meets the sea. You'll need to cross the river to continue across the beach and start the Severn Sisters.
It's possible to wade across during low tide but at high tide the only way over is by walking in land to the bridge at the Cuckmere Inn pub. This will add on approx 45 mins - 1 hour of walking time.
Its a lovely walk along the estuary on both sides of the river but the path towards the pub is narrow in places and uneven.
As the trek across the cliff tops needs to be completed in daylight, be mindful of any extra time walking to and from the bridge...
