We’ve been to manor farm for the last few years and love coming back, as it’s not too of an expensive day out. This year we upgraded for a few £s to do the maze experience. Oh what an experience it was to be lost in the corn fields. It took just under 2 hours to complete. Reached my Apple goals for the day and child was worn out. There were 3 mazes to complete, the map through the maze was crazily accurate, loved that it was an elephant. Could do with something between to engage the kids a bit more as the attention span was thin. Luckily I brought snacks. We did enjoy it, although the mini maze could do with a bit more direction, so the kids could complete it themselves. The large maze was definitely for us adults, testing our map skills, there was a viewpoint in the middle, which we thought it was VIP to receive a helicopter help… amazing to see the view. We got a haribo sweets as a prize at the end; although it felt like we deserved a trophy.
After the maze, we headed to the pumpkins, there was a nice display we were able to get some lovely pictures. After this we headed to the trick or treat doors and we paid extra to toast our own marshmallows with a melted choc dip for £3.50. Which lead us right on time to see the show. As we’ve been before, I was dreading if it was going to be the same show. But I was delighted it wasn’t. Loved that they kept the same actors and farmer Simon’s dance moves were 🤣 The actors are really friendly and humorous from the show and trick or treat doors, highly recommend a visit. It cost us £12.50 per ticket, the total experience took about 3.5-4 hours, it was definitely value for money and worth it,
Overall i really enjoyed it, and would highly recommend that this more suitable for younger children. Theres free parking, food venders available and inflatables at the end too. Would love to see more in the coming years, but still able to keep the cost low as the battle of entertaining the kids during holidays and enjoying some fresh air and a day out are...
Read moreReally used to love manor farm fruits but after our visit today, I don't think we'll go back again. We had booked online for 11:45am and got there bang on time. We were quickly seen too after waiting in a small queue. We were told to head for the poly tunnels as apparently there were tonnes to pick, we went down a few and thought we'd missed the good ones, so headed up some more and still there were none to be picked, they were either mouldy or still not ready to be picked. We noticed some more tunnels in the bottom field and someone had mentioned they managed to pick a lot down there. We finally found some ripe, huge strawberries which was amazing! However after picking a few we were told we had to move away and pick no more from this area (just to add it was not roped off like some others were), I questioned why and the gentleman replied because these are for something else and there's plenty more to pick, I explained we'd been down a lot of the tunnels and there wasn't any that were good enough to pick, he said well you can't pick from here, he told my daughters to stop picking and move on. We had spoke to other families who were also struggling to pick ripe strawberries which is such a shame as you have to pay to enter aswell as the fruit you pick (totally reasonable though as the play area is lovely and you're not rushed out). Whilst at the tills I mentioned to the lady serving us that a gentleman made us move on and didn't give us an explanation why, she said if it wasn't roped off then we had every right to be in there, she then explained that tunnel was probably being saved for picking for the supermarkets. If we hadn't paid to just enter I don't think I would have been as annoyed, but it was £17 just to enter. The raspberry picking saved the day as they were beautiful just a huge shame about the strawberries as my youngest...
Read morePaid £9 for the "pleasure" of picking 19 tiny and tastless strawberries (see pic - that was literally all we could find that was pickable). Such a shame, as we've been before and picked tons of massive, tasty berries. They used to close if weather bad or if they don't have enough fruit, but clearly they've got greedy. Every line of fruit was either white / underripe or the very few red berries we found had mould all over them! When we left, I asked the young boy at the desk if we had missed the good fruit? He said there was a marshal in a hi-viz who would have told us where they'd planted some new fruit. Well, I saw the marshal and he was absolutely miles away standing around idly right at the furthest point possible. I was actually walking in his direction when picking, to see if there were any better tents and was stopped by a sign that said "PYO do not pass this point". Mentioned this to the young lad and he said the sign had been put there earlier in the day and should have been moved. Honestly doubt anyone would have spotted this "marshal" anyway as he was so hidden away - I only spotted him as we checked every available row for good fruit and were sorely disappointed. No raspberries or gooseberries either! Plants all dried up, brown and any fruit on them was rotten or dried and shrivelled. See pic - most strawberries like that or the plants just empty of fruit. Toilets really dirty and smelly too. Such a shame as we've had some good days here in the past, but just felt massively...
