A track experience was bought for me by my better half via Groupon for the Formula Renault driving day. The track itself is at the end of a long Lane but Google maps had no issues finding it. On arrival finding the actual building is just a little confusing as there are cars associated with the place, along with a single decker bus on the left hand side, which give the impression the office might be located in said bus(it is not),drive straight ahead.

On arrival checking in was easy and you are presented with a disclaimer form to fill in which basically says if you die they aren't to blame and if you crash a car you owe them £750 +VAT. 15 mins after the booked time we headed into the driver briefing which is where we found out that you could buy insurance for £20 to indemnify you against that cost BUT this is not available for the Formula Renault experience so be warned.

You are then taken back to the muster point to wait to be called for your particular experience. After about a 30 min wait (others went ahead of me) I was called up. The track is short and I have seen other reviews on here that describe it as "go kart" sized which is a fair representation. If you are expecting to be able to really open these cars up you will be disappointed as the longest straight only allows you to get on the gas for about 3 seconds before you're braking again. That said I found myself getting quicker and quicker as the 10 laps went on and, for me at least, it was more about learning the track and the lines and I would say it is a good taster of driving a single seater.

On that note a couple of things : The pedals on the single seater are VERY close together (imagine putting you feet together and fitting 3 pedals in that space), there is no power steering and it is bumpy! You start off by being push started by a quad bike while in 3rd gear and then drop the clutch and head out onto the track, and in 3rd gear you stay. Trust me there is enough to think about without having to change gear even if it would make a difference on such a short and twisty track. One downside is you could, and I did, end up on track with another car (Ferrari or Lambo, there is only 1 Formula Renault) and this will interrupt your flow.

The experience itself is short and the 10 laps go pretty quickly, although it seems slightly longer in the car. At the briefing they offer you extra laps at a discounted price and I guess if you want to do more these are fairly good value at £75 for 10 more laps.

If you want to book this day check Groupon as they have some deals for 51% off which takes some sting out of the day and brought mine down to £99 (you can see that the extra 10 laps at £75 is quite good value). Toilet facilities are basic and are porta-loos which don't smell great so GO before you go, if you get my drift (excuse the pun). Oh and if you want to remember your "day" they offer a various media packages. I went for the photo and video at £30 which gets you 4 high quality photos (I'm yet to see them so will reserve judgement) taken by a professional photographer. In addition they give you a 4Gb SD card (mine says 8 on it) which you give to your instructor when you go round and is put into an action cam on the side of the car. You then take the card and adaptor with you. The USB adaptor I got didn't seem to be accepted by my computer but luckily I had a micro SD card adaptor at home. The video is pretty good and is a nice reminder of the day.

Overall I had a good time and would probably go back for a different experience just don't expect this place to be...

I should start that I never write negative reviews and always give companies the benefit of the doubt but feel compelled to here. I have never dealt with such an incompetent and poorly run company who are clearly in breach of consumer rights legislation. I paid for a junior 4 car surprise supercar experience for my 11 year old son’s birthday treat. I bought the experience voucher through virgin experiences and having selected the correct experience from the Drift Limits website, entered the voucher details for that experience in checkout which showed as payment complete (£198 down to a balance of £0) and confirmation was then received when I followed up directly via email where I quoted my experience type and voucher details. All was accepted by drift limits. We arrived this afternoon with an excited 11 year old only to be told that there was an internal issue with their system and virgin vouchers showing the incorrect experience (in short they hadn’t received full payment from virgin which is not my concern as the end user as per the legal rights and entitlements of the contact binded into at point of sale). I was told by front of house staff this was a common issue recently and was just an admin error which would be no issue for us as I had paid, booked and had the voucher accepted as payment in full via the booking process (contract complete). The voucher clearly outlines the experience type paid for. We were then informed my son could not partake in the experience as a manager who refused to speak to me directly stated they had not been paid in full by virgin. I reminded staff that as the end customer, the contract to receive the stated experience had been completed at point of sale and any issues with their internal processes for voucher reimbursement was not for me as the customer to be impacted by. Staff who clearly felt embarrassed by the incompetence tried to get their manager to speak with us directly but sadly they were left high and dry by managers hiding behind them.

Even other customers became frustrated at the injustice - seeing my 11 year son crying on his birthday and clearly articulated alongside myself what breaches of consumer rights legislation they were partaking in. Evidence of legal requirements were shown to staff not just by me but other customers I had never met before, clearly amazed at the situation!! We were offered a one car experience in place of the 4 (16 lap) experience I had paid and booked for which of course was rejected.

I genuinely am in dismay at how Drift Limits have conducted themselves and will be seeking further legal advice. It is now left for me to spend my time chasing between virgin and drift limits to ascertain how I can be suitably reimbursed given the travelling time, fuel spent , and upset caused to my son on his birthday. In the meantime, please do think twice before booking with this company particularly if you want to treat your child to a once in a lifetime experience. They don’t care...

i wanted to drive a Lambo so got a voucher for the STO as a present for christmas 2022. i booked my day for april as i wanted it to be decent weather & they cancelled on me the day before with an issue with the car.

fair enough.

a month later they messaged saying it was back on the road; i was away over summer so rebooked for sept.

they cancelled again just before the booking. both times i’d paid extra for a weekend booking, so that was 2 saturdays wasted so far.

rebooked for november 2023. this time, i got there, registered, did the briefing & my sighting laps, the stood around for about 2.5hrs watching a bunch of people rushing around with clipboards, all stressed because they were short staffed & no-one had a clue what was going on or when i’d get to go out. no-one else was driving the Lambo, it was just sat there. after a while, i asked the girl in the cafe if she could refill my water bottle from the drinking water tap they have & she initially refused saying i have to buy water until i explained i’d been kept waiting for hours for my go & she finally allowed me some free water. thanks.

eventually i got in the car, strapped in, cameras on, started pulling away & someone ran over & said to stop & get out of the car as they’d run out of time due to noise restrictions.

obviously, i was not very happy. someone who seemed to be in charge offered a half-baked apology & said that when i next came they’d “look after me” & offer me a load of extra laps to make me happy. fine, whatever.

rebooked a few times in 2024, they cancelled them all on me again. eventually got back in the car in november 2024 (so almost 2 years from purchase) & managed to have my session. when i asked about all these extra laps (bearing in mind i’d also paid more to have some extra ones anyway), they offered me 2 laps as compensation for waiting 2 years, having had 6 dates cancelled & wasting an entire day the year before travelling there & back & not driving the car.

2 laps. really? 🤡

overall, driving the car was fun but it was a very disappointing experience with this company. the track is not great, it’s very tight to keep speeds down, the surface is awful & they don’t let you change gear. i had to stay in 4th the entire way round in case you go fast. in a race car. on a race track. imagine.

i would absolutely not return to this company at all. very poorly organised & they seem to have absolutely zero interest in making their customers happy, they just want to squeeze as much money out of you for their overpriced media package (probably because they don’t get many repeat customers, i...

The Booking Experience: I’ll start with the bad just to get it out of the way. Booking my session was a nightmare. I had multiple emails back and forth, with some of my concerns completely disregarded. At one point, they told me I’d have to book again without mentioning a refund or rescheduling. I even paid for an add-on, which was ignored when I brought it up. When I asked when the voucher had been used, that too was ignored. It wasn’t until I messaged their Instagram that the media team got involved and finally got me the information I needed. My girlfriend, who originally booked the voucher, also had to email them. After a week of frustration and changing my plans, I finally got my booking confirmed. That experience put me off before I even arrived. Now, onto the good! Despite the booking issues, I’m so glad I went. The team on-site was friendly and welcoming. There was a bit of a wait for my session, but it was fully booked, so that was expected. The safety briefing was clear, and all questions were answered. Side note: they offer a lot of add-ons to extend your time or enhance the experience, so check those out in advance to avoid surprises—it’s very tempting! The Driving Experience: I had the pleasure of driving with Nick (or “Santa”), and he was phenomenal from the start! We chatted about F1 and racing—he really knows his stuff. Before driving the F1000 car, I did a few laps in a standard car while Nick explained how to handle the F1000, answering all my questions and giving me great tips. Those tips paid off! After seeing how I handled the car on my first lap, he let me go at my own pace, rather than sticking rigidly to the four-lap structure. It felt like a reward for driving safely, listening to instructions, and still having fun. The F1000 was incredible—not your average car, but if you have solid go-karting experience, it definitely helps. Respect the car and its limits, and you’ll have an amazing time. My only complaint? I wish the session lasted longer because I was thoroughly enjoying myself. Final Thoughts/ TL;DR: The only reason I’m not giving this five stars is because of the frustrating booking process. That definitely needs improvement, especially when using a voucher. More standard time in the car (without needing add-ons) would also be a great improvement. That said, once I was there, the experience was fantastic. The staff, the cars, and especially Nick made up for everything. If booking goes smoothly next time, I’ll definitely be back!
