Went for a cooking course arranged by Llanhilleth for members of Meens Den Blaina. Everything was supplied, we turned up, prepared everything, take home & cook. Lunch was provided. Llanhilleth were supr friendy, informative & helpful. 14 old boys prepping & cooking is a sight to behold lol. Llanhilleth is a designated "warm Hub". The Cafe serves a selection of hot & cold food & drinks to eat in or takeaway. All food is fresh & home made. The "Home Made Cake" selection are so delicious I buy loads to take home. Being disabled accessibility is key. The Llanhilleth is fully accessible with a lift to all floors. Wide corridors, shallow ramps where needed. Level floors on entrance & throughout are leveno threshold bumps (nice). Entrance level has a fully fitted disabled toilet, size to take an electric mobility scooter. Llanhilleth has rooms of various sizes for meetings, group exercise etc & a really nice top floor hall with a stage & bar all for hire, On site fully fitted kitchen is available for use. I say "SUPPORT IT OR LOOSE IT". Even if it's only a coffee. Regular & lots of us is key. Why use a chain when you can eat & drink in beatiful surroundings. Plenty of on & off site free parking. Opposite train station. Look around, once gone, never come back. Spend local, if you have, give, see how good it feels to know you are part of a community. Tell your friends bosses one & all. Not only Llanhilleth...

The venue is beautiful and I had no stress they decorated the room beautifully and was more than I could of imagined Any thing I asked was done no matter how big or small We honestly cannot recommend this place enough thank you so much for making our special...
Read moreThe café is an absolute gem, with very friendly staff serving lovely food at low prices. We had sandwiches made to order (£3) with a good side serving of salad and crisps.
I also took home a very nice and substantial home-made chocolate brownie.
The room where you order has a good selection of interesting local artefacts, curated by the Llanhilleth Historical Society. My partner, who grew up in the town, enjoyed spotting photos of her parents' house and other childhood places.
The separate eating area is pleasant, and the whole institute, a lovely building, is very clean and well maintained.
There is plenty of free parking between the institute and the River Ebbw, where you may be able to see Dipper and other...
