Cwmbran Boating Lake Playground — Attraction in Llantarnam

An amazing place for walking, meeting people, sitting chatting, cafe, feeding the ducks and geese, great for families, fun play park, excellent for dog walking...

However, Cwmbran Boating Lake needs some maintainance... The car park needs double yellow lines urgently to stop people parking blocking disabled user car parking spaces Pushing a wheelchair is made more difficult and very bumpy in places for wheelchair users, due to the pot-holes and bumps in the paths due to subsidance in places. Also large puddles form with the rain, filling with mud The newly planted cherry trees near the car park need attention, to adjust the tight stakes supporting the trees, before they damage the trees as they grow The greenery surrounding the lake has become very overgrown The decking area has been fenced off for months, due to safety concerns Some areas of the fabulous play park also fenced off... ...and its schools summer holiday time (Not very Health and Safety compliant)

All in all, Cwmbran Boating Lake is looking very neglected, almost unsafe

We now start our daily puppy walk along the river from the Woodland Road Sports & Social Club, all the way upto the Boating Lake. Our now off lead walks, are a totally whole new experience (compared with earlier on lead ones). Our puppy absolutely loves it here. She gets to walk & run around with her friends, making new doggy friends every day. People are always so friendly & happy to let our dogs socialise. We spend at least 2hrs a day here, getting covered in mud & totally worn out. We're so grateful we met someone who told us about this place. We'd now be lost without our daily adventures. A great place for everyone looking for a safe place to walk with their dogs off lead & guaranteed for plenty of doggy socialising. I cannot recommend this beautiful...

It's not a bad area the park is ok but they need a splash pad for the summer and the cafe needs to lower their prices because the prices are a joke and because its also popular for dog walkers they need a padding pool or splash pad just for dog in the summer, but for children there needs to be more we need a splash pad and out door pool for the summer for the children there not one in torfaen or the gwent area so it's needed and I know it...
