EDIT: Sharkbite responded in the way I expected as per their other bad reviews responses, childish and unprofessional. If only they spent as long as they did writing their sarcastic responses on their service, they might get an extra star or two on their reviews.
Never did I say the food was bad. It’s an average tasting takeaway to have once or twice a year as I have.
A 40 minute wait is a long time for a takeout restaurant, do better. You lost walk in customers because of advising wait times whilst I was sat eating.
Again, yeah not good enough for everyone. Not some. You advertised 3 and I only got 2. You wouldn’t buy a pair of shoes and say okay it as a typo I’ll accept the one. Shambles service. Honouring what you offered stopped this review being wrote.
Finally, thinking sitting in a Smokey room to the point your eyes sting is not normal. Do better. Clowns.
Original post:
Since opening I've ordered here 3 times, the first time the food arrived cold. The second time, we waited outside for 40 minutes for a take out order. The last time, we ate in and ordered the overboard tank'd box. The food arrived with two chicken strips, so as per the menu, I mentioned I thought it said 3 chicken strips, which I was told no, the menu says 2. Having the menu next to me, I open and point out it does actually say 3 and so does the website as attached. I was then advised all of their chef menus and systems say 2 and the menu is wrong. I responded saying that's not really my fault to which I was just given an apology and the menus are being updated. Not really good enough, I've paid for 3 and the menu isn't cheap, just correct it and let the next person know if they go to order the box. Also, not providing any standard sauces and charging £1 for a tiny paper pot of probably bulk BBQ sauce is criminal. Atmosphere, inbetween the music cutting in and out, it was quite smoky indoors, great if you want to smell...
Read moreOrdered at 19.41, had very few updates and then at 21.50 had an email cancelling the order, too late to make alternative plans so left a factual and polite post on the Sharkbite Facebook page which allows this, explaining the experience only to be blocked and banned immediately.
It’s not about what goes wrong, things happen, but about how it’s dealt with, and ignoring and putting your head in the sand doesn’t work. I’ve read lots on your social media about things going wrong and people being let down, but decided to ignore it, but looks like they were right,
Had contact on messenger from the owner asking me to contact their page direct (that I was blocked from) and offering an excuse with something to do with it being Just Eats fault, but a business picks it’s partners to service it’s customers, that’s not the customers fault.
Then I received a further message with more excuses and saying that “I was going to offer you a free meal” (past tense) presumably this was some sort of strange way of blaming me for the issue as no free meal was offered (it wasn’t wanted expected by the way, wasn’t asked for and wouldn’t have been accepted).
A really strange and very negative experience which honestly would have been better if the owner (Mark) had never contacted me, his passive aggressive messages were very strange given all we had done is tried to place a midweek order for some food (which is what they apparently offer).
I rarely leave a negative review, but when you are a local business pushing a high end and appropriately priced service you need to actively and honestly take responsibility for all outcomes, whether you like them or not.
We won’t be customers again, nor recommend anyone else is, which is a pity. Just ordered two burgers and it turned into a saga and the owner passively blaming me for being not satisfied with the...
Read moreReally enjoyed my evening here. Food was great and portion sizes were huge! This could be the first place I’ve been where portions are actually abit too big. Every side can easily serve atleast 2 people, the prices misled me slightly because everything was so cheap so I thought the portions would be small. This is definitely a good thing and not a bad thing though. Everything also came out hot and was cooked well! Service from the staff was flawless, they accommodated for us at every turn however they were limited in how much they could do. For instance our table was booked for 6:10pm however we didn’t get seated and had to wait outside in the cold until gone 6:30pm. This was because a large group booking had run over by quite a lot. Meaning quite a few people were waiting. Totally out of the staffs control but far from ideal for the customers. There was also no table service and you have to order at the bar, this takes away from the restaurant feel and makes it seem more like a fast food place, the queue can be long sometimes too. I wanted to order a milkshake before leaving and when I finally go to the till they had run out which was again nobody’s fault but annoying to queue for nothing. The atmosphere was pretty good, the place was nicely decorated and all the customers seemed happy enough. There was some rather loud music and constant people coming in to collect food orders, neither were an issue to me but I know those things could disturb some people. I will definitely be going back as the food was amazing and I never got to try one of the milkshakes! Thank you Sharkbite Burgers for a...
