Lovely during late-April and May when Tue bluebells are in bloom. Plenty of dog walkers and families out and about.

Others have mentioned the proximity of the café which is cute (note there is no inside seating) and if you need to drive people seemed to park on the residential streets to the north, but it is only a 20 minute walk from Wanstead station on the Central line.

Nearby is the rest of Epping Forest and Wanstead Flats, so plenty of walking, running and cycling available through woods, around ponds and...

A magnificent display of bluebells in their season and a beautiful place at any time of the year Chalet Wood is a special place. To be found in a secluded area of Wanstead Park, it is a haven of tranquillity all the year round but it is spring when it is at its best. The forest floor is a carpet of blue, and the only sound is birdsong. Only one request - please do not leave the carefully marked paths as the bluebells are very vulnerable to careless feet, and I would like future generations to enjoy this...

14th April 2024. Bluebells season. I was here with my wife on a Sunday morning. We loved the views and took plenty of photos. This area got very busy towards noon. The online information asks all visitors to stick to footpaths as stepping on these beautiful plants destroys them for nearly forever! Please keep dogs on leads and stick to the footpaths so we all can enjoy these views in early April...

Someone told me bluebells out so I run out to enjoy that amazing atmosphere but my bad luck it was too early to be there. Btw one thing I really enjoyed was birds sound at very quiet place. It was awesomely out of the world. It's lovely green hidden area under the tall trees. Hope coming back again for bluebells 😉
